Do Music and Motorcycles go together?

I haven't posted in here in a while, but I think I have something good enough to pass muster...

I was in Austin for the weekend last week and got a chance to watch a great local band at Hotel Vegas on the East side. They are called Golden Dawn Arkestra- a 10-15 piece "cosmic funk/afrobeat" band, complete with costumes and dancers, etc. They were fantastic!

Check 'em out, but they are way better live and in the flesh:

(music actually starts at 0:50 seconds in)

Now that's something you don't see every day, Jamie. I watched the video you posted & sampled a couple of others. They're actually pretty good. But I think I counted 13 people in the group. The split for a night's gig won't be anything to write home about.

Very interesting, and distinctively different, maybe not quite my style of music. As far as making money, ooouch. Heck you split my bands purse only 4 ways and you are asking for a raise at your day job still. These guys are definitely from another generation. Almost like New Age dates gypsy, and mixes in Texan, after seeing a bumper sticker about keeping Austin weird. They win the cool award.

One of my favorite bands, Spoon, covered a kind of obscure old punk song by The Cramps.

Half Baked in Lakeway last Saturday night. Who says old folks can't play music and ride motorcycles?

I'm actually quite partial to "Pet Shop Boys". A lot of their tunes have a very quick rhythm that's easy to ride (fast) to.

So, this song came on the radio in the car Saturday, and I love this song. I told my wife, "Man, I love this song."

She says, "I imagine this is what your internal soundtrack sounds like in your head when you're out riding."

I replied, "Yes. Exactly correct."

One of my favorites also. One that I can actually sing without making a fool out of myself.
