Single Track at Rock Trails of Tolar?

Re: Rock Trails of Tolar - a new riding area south of Fort Worth

A few friends and myself went to check out the place last weekend TORO had sponsored an enduro race at Rock Trails of Tolar in Feb 2012. The area does not appear to have been utilized by ATV riders at all. Thus, current trails are either clearly single track or jeep trails. The single track that is there was developed by TORA for the race it self.

The terain is mostly rocky, with some dirt track. Limited amount of sand or water/mud. The single track intersects 4x4 trails. The intersections are not marked, so caution is recommened. The TORO track still has up some of the directional and hazard markers, however not all areas are marked.
Given the limited number of people their, the lack of markings was not an issue on the day we were there.

As the course was laid out for a race, there is only one "route" currently marked. Level of difficulty varies...as such, a beginner should exercise caution until they learn where the more difficult sections are and perhaps then develop their own "side track" around obsticals. The making of new trails is not prohibited. HOWEVER, as a courtesy, avoid cutting trail over exisiting jeep trail/obstacle areas. The jeep / 4x4 community has been working for a year to develop specific riding areas on the property.

Their web site is limited. Better info on the place can be found on their face book site. Just search for their name and view their wall for pic's and comments about the place.

They are very interested in seeing the place used by more MTC riders...so get out their and give it a try. Price...a little high $20 for the day or $7.50 with a $150 membership, but it is only 45min south of Fort Worth off 377 (just south of Granbury).
