VStrom Sticky Ignition Switch

I have a key, keyring, speedy pass. Nothing else. Weight well wear out the lock. My Dodge is the same, just a key and ring .

Have ridden my 2006 DL 650 a month since I last had my switch problem with no recurrences.

(Mine was resolved by dosing the key slot with WD40 then blowing out the excess with compressed air.)

Just returned from a four day trip to Big Bend, and I never had a hint of a problem.

For the record, I've had a locksmith look at my ignition switch. He can take it apart & fix it if I'll remove the set myself & bring it to him. But he told me he has no concern about the lock breaking or coming apart on me.
