Nice Day in the Hill Country grabbed the keys to the Rex and
took her out for a nice stroll on some favorite local roads.

Bike will be 18 years old in Feb, but I still can't find anything
I would replace it with. I see others I would like to add to the
stable but the Rex will stay until I am done riding street bikes.

I hope it was warmer In your area, up here in Dallas it was only 38 degrees and too cold for this old fart to go riding..

Have a great xmas and new year :trust:

Gary, Merry Christmas to you and your lovely family.

It hit 65 down here today so it was a nice day for a couple hundred mile
day, rode the KTM yesterday with some friends so it was a great moto weekend for me.

Great pic Bud. Glad you had it out for some quiet time. :-P I doubt the OE's will ever build anything as nice as you have that Rex worked out. FI & class II-blue tooth will never outperform light agile responsive handling and more than adequate power. For our generation it's about the ride, that's what washes the stress away.

Happy Motoring!

Yep Sam, I know there are dozens of better handling, more Hi Tech new bikes
out there but I have upgraded the suspension to modern standards
with all ZX14 front suspension and top of the line rear shocks, And well as for the looks it still screams motorcycle to me just as the first big bikes of the 70s did.

And all the fuel injection and program ride modes and traction control
are just not as fun to me as an old-school big cammed Inline 4 with a brace
of flat side carbs rattling along and screaming their soulful song when
you grab a handful

Not that I am knocking the new stuff, I have ridden several and they
are flat amazing but this bike has been with me almost 18 years and has 159000 miles on it (probably closer to 165 as a couple of years I rode without a speedo drive) and I have pulled it apart and put it together and
added and changed so many things over the years its part of the family

Nice pic Bud. I left around 3: 30 and the temp said 71. Got back an hour later and it was 56.
