me: "those SXFs are not good trail bikes"

Big Dan at Munn Racing "yes they are"

moral of the story, don't argue with Big Dan...

"The 2011 KTM 250SXF is the best 250 4-stroke woods bike I have ever ridden"

"I have also ridden the '11 250xc and 300xc and still prefer the 250sxf in the woods, its a true woods weapon!"

I'd own one if they would build one with a real rear suspension. :-D

Oh wait,, they did..
Yaaa, no more PDS.

At $7k or so.. I'll have to wait till after the next deployment for that kind of play cash....and by then the 2012's will be out..

SX = SuperCross = stiff suspension, that will beat you death on roots & sand whoops we have in the Sam Houston.

not worried about SHNF, the other bikes would beat me worse

the 2011 MX bikes are linkage and offer a more progressive system

rode all day and was impressed, at 200lbs plus ill take a little extra suspension; its feels like a small bike not a bad thing; the bars are too low and forward, needs a spark arrestor

Big A rides a 450 SXF in the woods, course he is a big guy

the KTM 250 XCF and 350 XCF are released

the 350 XCF has linkage like the SXF, revalved front forks, button and kick start, kick stand, 6 gears semi wide, 18" rear wheel, 2.5 gal tank, stronger wheels

on the 250 SXF we put in the soft map and the 3rd gear is was smoothed out; the turns are sharp and are better with a bit of throttle, but the bike will go slow without bogging; a few stalls where it needs more throttle; just a matter of getting used to; really a stable feel on tight stuff

have never ridden a 450 but the 350 may be more a trail bike

any rumour of a 350 exc ? reading the reviews of the xcf it seems like you need to wring its neck a bit. a fuel injected 350exc with some lower down grunt would just about be perfect.

I hope my 2006 sxf 250 is a good woods weapon......should be ready soon

No sir the 06 sucks in the woods. Tell you what I'm willing to do, I'll come haul it off to the dump for you. And as an additional favor I won't even charge you for the gas.

more stuff from Chilly, I dont think he is a big fan of the 350 XCF compared to a 450, on the 250 XCf he is more favorable; but not a bike he would ride, still for a trail bike...

"While riding around trails the tiny thumper felt much more at home. The power delivery is very smooth, aided by crisp fuel injection. It pulls steady from low revs and does not stall. In technical terrain it is easy to ride and needs very little help from the clutch. For as much as KTM wants to bill this as a purebred racer, it has all the earmarks of a great trail motor."

for noobs like me the hydraulic clutch and lack of engine braking are a concern on cornering, and just the height compared to a CRF 230F; but not an intimidating bike at all, give me a E-start and a FMF spark arrestor pipe and nuff said

a guy at work races on the 350 SXf and the 300 XCW and likes them both
