Dan (that's him on foot on the right always helping out , me especially) and I managed to make it up this monster first . I snaked my way from side to side so much I was laughing with joy I made it. It was crazy, we are talking softball and basketball bolders for roads. World class stuff at least for this guy. I grabbed the phone and caught the next group behind . Ropeburn never went down but got his rear klr tire stuck in a gut that took two people to pry him out. More pics to come. Never does it justice on camera but I would gestimate that was a 10% grade

This sand like volcano ash conglomerate and heavy gravel beds pulled my 500lb vstrom 650 down about 1/2 dozen times. Anyone find a right front blinker on the track, it's mine:lol2: how many miles is this road? we kept saying "we are at least half way there":brainsnap...major challenge overcome!

Just made it home - thanks Richard, JT, et al for all the work in putting this together!!! Another great trip to the BB in the books. Had a great ride Thur playing around in Terlingua, did the Chispa/Pinto loop on Friday and the Big Sandy on Saturday. Still the best part is getting to reconnect with folks I don’t get to see often enough and meet some great new peeps.

I’ve got a question regarding 170 west of Candelaria just past Godzilla Hill I’d like to ask someone knowledgeable about the road. If someone has knowledge regarding the ‘public-ness’ of the road I’d like to chat via PM. FYI - there is an unlocked gate marked No Traspassing.

Just in case anyone is wondering I was lucky enough to have a CH-53 Super Stallion riding sag for me that I was able to call in and fly me across the gate beyond the 2nd marked gate.

Journeys' end! Arrived safe back in central Texas! Another good one Richard! Many thanks to you and assistants for continuing to put these together. They are deeply appreciated.

First timer and I had a blast. Thanks for putting this together and a shout out to Philip Barrett for patiently riding at a snails pace behind me on a hot River Road ride on Saturday. I was having a hard time with the heat and new body armor that apparently doesn't breathe as well as advertised. It was an adventure and a fun ride!

I had asked JT on the first dinner night, how many participants? I believe he told me 106 . Yes, I would say quite successful! It was one **** of a ride . Back safe and sound @ home too.

Thanks for putting on a great meet up. Me and my father met up with some friends we had met riding earlier. My father rolled over 10,000miles on his 15 KLR650 and I have around 73,000 miles on my 08 KLR650. We rode Old Ore Rd., East & West River Rd, Maverick, Hen Egg, and Black Gap. I lost my rear break pads Thursday. So I over nighted some from California. So I was back up and going Friday evening. Had a small wreck on an easy part of Black Gap which slingshotted myself past my window which I caught with my foot and broke the window off. Other than that it was amazing riding and weekend.
