Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

Awesome machine........gettin me thinking.

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

It is an amazing machine. I wish I could keep it and get a dual sport. The wife and my finances will only let me keep 1 bike around.
This thing handles like a razor blade with a rocket attached. It is amazing in the twisties of the hill country and Arkansas. Burn down the twisties all day and you won't have aching wrists and a sore back at the end. Nice upright seating, but not too old man like.

Make me an offer I can't refuse.

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

Nice bike. I owned a 2008 Tuono. GLWS

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

I had an 07 tuono before this one. The newer v4 is 10 times better than the old v2.

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

I had the old V2 as well. Been wanting a V4.

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

Don't let this one slip away. It had ask the niggles worked out. Ready to rock!

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

This is my dream bike. Also, 2014 is a good year to get, IIRC. Few problems fixed in 2014 like the gas tank issue and they also added on ABS this year. That's the color I want too. Almost bought one but it didn't work out. I will have one someday, just not right now. I bet it handles like a dream with that shock on it.

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

Gixxerjasen is right. Aprilia increased the fuel capacity in '14 and added abs. Abs is amazing. I did a couple of max brake exercises in a class (military so I have to do refresher msf courses). From 30-0 can happen fast with little excitement. Front nor rear will lock or lift. Just max braking until you stop. The instructor just smiled and laughed everyone I did it.

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

Well, some of the 2013 models increased their own fuel capacity with the tank bulging issues. :D Not a problem with the 2014's though. I'm going to drool over your pics for a little while longer. Obviously you are one of those interested in increasing usable performance on the bike since you swapped the shock instead of the pipe. I test rode one with an aftermarket pipe and holy moly she sounds GOOOOOOOOOD.

I think you need to find a way to buy a pipe AND a DS. :D

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

You're right on the 13 and before tanks swelling. My original tanked swelled. I had it replaced under warranty and paid the $350 to have it Caswell coated. No more worry about how ethanol gas making the tank swell.

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

What changed on this bike
from 2014 to 2015? Just
went to AF1 this last Sat
with my buddy Who got
a left over 2015 with Acro
Pipe and ECM flash. It is
an amazing bike. Same
color and everything as
your 2014. Is 2014 an
1100 V4 also. Rode the
2016 Factory and it was
amazing too. But the
sound the Acro made was
one I will never forget...

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

2014 was only 1000cc. They made the 1100 in 2015 if I remember correctly. In 14 the bike got updated brakes, bigger tank, and abs. I'm not sure what they changed in 15.

I wanted to do the race map ecu and new exhaust, but I couldn't justify it. The bike is already stupid fast and sounds great with factory exhaust. Remove the exhaust flap cables and it defaults to full open all the time. Give each the factory exhaust a little better sound at idle.

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

Yes, your right, the bike is stupid fast!
Is their any factory warranty left on
Your 2014? The 2015 comes with a
2 year warranty!

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

Unfortunately there is not any factory warranty left. The previous owner bought it in Nov 13.

Somebody buy this thing........its killing me.

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

If I had the money, I would be in
Abilene in a heartbeat to pick it
up. Most exciting motorcycle I
have ridden since I sold my
KTM 1290 SDR in May of 2015!
There is no substitute for 160+
HP in about 410lbs of Motorcycle.
It's amazing we can buy it!

Very true. I'm going to miss it, but a new adventure calls.

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

Is your new adventure an
ADV bike or owning a
Dual Sport motorcycle
to ride "off road" with?
I have owned both and
I know about the "one
bike rule" especially
in the recent economy.
I stopped riding offroad
ten years ago because
Dual Sport riding got to
be to time consuming
for me with not near the
same same thrills as I
have had riding a SDR
or V4 Tuono. But if you
have the desire to do it
I can understand the
attraction. I wish I had
what ever bike you
wanted and we could
trade. This year, 2016,
feels like a great time
to "Buy a Bike" but not
great time to "Sell One"!
AF1 does have a couple
of ADV and Dual Sport
bikes they are trying to
sell. I have 2015 BMW
F800R but it's no "GS"
Good luck with your Bike
Sale and your Adventure!

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

New adventure is adventure/dual sport riding. I have a desire to explore some backroads, camp, etc. It's kind of hard to do on the tuono. I've been hav I ng thrills on the street for 10 years with only 1 lowside.

I road the dirt about 8 years ago and loved it. I wanted to ride trails and such, but never got to do it because of military orders and moving around. Switching to dual sport is the beginning of long distance touring. I have 7 years left in the military before b I retire. My retirement plan starts with a trip from Baja Mexico to Alaska. I want to get some off road experience before I tackle that. I can always come back to the street and big horsepower.

The old saying riding a slow bike fast can be more fun than a fast bike slow is very true. I plan to have a supermoto setup for whatever DS bike I get.

Sounds like a plan man!
And thank you for your
Service to our country!

Tuono is still available.

Re: 2014 Aprilia Tuono V4 APRC ABS

I would love to own it!
Rode with my buddy
who has one Monday.
Above my pay grade
this year. This time
last year, could have
bought it no problem.
Timing is everything
I guess. The V4 Tuono
it is a great value in a
tuff M/C sales year!
I know how you may
feel. In 2009, I had 2
Buells. 2007 XB12X
Ullyses and a 2009
1125CR. Ully finally
sold for $3800 in
2011 (I owed $7K)
and the 1125CR
was traded in for
$4000 in 2012. I
always say H-D
owes me "$10K"
in lost equity for
when they "pulled
the plug on Buell"
in the fall of 2010.
If I had the cash
now, that I lost on
Buells then, I could
buy your bike now!
Your bike will sale,
it just takes the one
rider with the cash
not tied up in a trade.
I wish I was that guy!
