+THE OFFICIAL+ Hill country 'ROUND MOUNTAIN ROUNDUP'. 4/29--5/1 2016

Come one, come all- Enjoy the first annual, Round Mountain Roundup!!

When- April 29, 30, 1. 2016
Where- Round Mountain TX, FM 962. (8 miles south of marble Falls)
What- A gathering of motorcycle/dual sport enthusiasts gathering for good times, great rides, and awesome company.

So think, 'roll the bones rally', only in the heart of the Texas hill country. Minutes from awesome DS roads like sandy Creek, cr308, willow city loop, etc.

This is the first year for this, so bear with us on accommodations.

Primitive camping spots anywhere on the property. Porta-johns will be on-site, and most likely outdoor showers. Depending on number of attendees, there will probably be actual camp sites available, and SEVRAL fire rings for your enjoyment.

Future plans include small cabins available, full RV hookups, etc.

My parents place sits on 12 acres overlooking marble falls, from the south. Beautiful scenery from atop the hill.

I have lots of GPS tracks available for attendees.

You can camp, and eat. You can just eat, and stay at a nearby hotel, you can camp, and feed yourself, whatever. Even if you're just wanting to show up and ride, you're welcome.

Menu schedule is as follows-

Friday evening- fajitas, and all the fixings
Saturday morn- breakfast pastries, juice, coffee, etc.
Saturday evening- BBQ!!!
Sunday morning- help-yourself breakfast tacos (build your own)

My mom has been competing in local BBQ cook offs (and winning sometimes) for the last 26 years. This event will be replacing her annual 'Founders day' cookoff she's done since the early 90s.

Long story short... She can cook!

Again, mix and match how you wanna participate.
Admission- $10
Camping- $10/person/night
Food- $50

So, if you're showing up Friday, and eating and camping, it'd be- $80. (50 for food, 20 for 2 nights camping, 10 admission)

If you're gonna be eating, it's gotta be paid in advance, via PayPal.

There are hotel accommodations In both marble falls, and Johnson city. Both are about 10 minutes away. Bikes can be left overnight at our place if you don't wanna drag them back to the motel.

For the hardcore DS guys, Hidden Falls off road parks is 15 minutes away, if that.

BYOB, Just keep it under control.

Deadline to sign up and pay is 4/22, if you'll be enjoying the food available.
If just participating or camping, I'll need to know something on 4/22'as well, pay at the gate.

PM me your details after an "IN" reply here
Subj- RM ROUNDUP
Name
Phone number or email
Accommodation request. (Eg, tent camping, no food; food only; just participating; etc)

See y'all there!!!!

Re: +THE OFFICIAL+ Hill country 'ROUND MOUNTAIN ROUNDUP'

Re: +THE OFFICIAL+ Hill country 'ROUND MOUNTAIN ROUNDUP'

Yes , no t shirt. I was all in until I found out I couldn't get a t shirt. Oh well. [emoji15]

Signatures? We don't need no stinking signatures!

Re: +THE OFFICIAL+ Hill country 'ROUND MOUNTAIN ROUNDUP'

I've seen some photos of the dirt roads and water crossings out in that area, looks like fun stuff. Will a F650GS with knobbies be able to handle the routes you have planned?

Re: +THE OFFICIAL+ Hill country 'ROUND MOUNTAIN ROUNDUP'

I definitely think so, with a compotent jockey

You can find component jockeys at Best Buy, I think.

Competent jockeys take time and practice. And sometimes not even then!

Ha ha. Ok, I'll stop

Absolutely. May even be able to provide electricity, but I'm gonna try to under promise, and over deliver in this.

Re: +THE OFFICIAL+ Hill country 'ROUND MOUNTAIN ROUNDUP'

Pump and pressure tank are being setup as we speak for water supply to camp spots, and showers

Re: +THE OFFICIAL+ Hill country 'ROUND MOUNTAIN ROUNDUP'

Laughing.....hey thats a great place to put the electrical coupling for your pump, right in a flowing puddle of water. That could liven up stepping in the puddle. As a sport touring rider I feel left out of this party. The area around and near Round Mountain is fun for riding on a non-dual sport bike.

Re: +THE OFFICIAL+ Hill country 'ROUND MOUNTAIN ROUNDUP'

It's only 110v @ 15a, if that. Plus that's an 'outdoor' plug end. Lol. Even if water got in, just stepping in the puddle isn't gonna shock you. That current has already found a path of easy resistance to the ground, assuming it hasn't already tripped the breaker, IF water got in and penetrated the energized circuit.

This is open to all riders, not just DS guys. I hope I didn't imply otherwise.

Holiday Inn is about 6 miles away, $77/night.

Best Western about 12 miles away, $81/night.

Next year, this time, there will be small bunkhouse/cabins available.
