Don't know if you've seen this, so a little heads-up.
We have some club officers going down for this. Really good deal on the YO hotel room rates.

This year’s Texas Statewide Motorcycle Safety Forum will provide important information to riders, instructors, and traffic safety professionals who are interested in improving rider safety. The Forum is FREE to attend and lunch will be provided (does not include nightly stays at the Y.O. Ranch). Topics will include:

•Identification of the extent of the rider safety problem.
•Activities that TxDOT, DPS, NHTSA, FHWA, and AMA are doing to improve rider safety.
•Legislative activities in Texas Activities that NHTSA doing to address rider safety.
•How to manage a crash scene and provide initial rider assistance.

Actually some interesting crash data on some of the most popular bike routes in Texas if you look at their "routes" tab. I'm sure one can play with the statistics forever here, and what fun it is to drill down in the data, if you can ever get your hands on it. It sure looks like the same old culprits bite us in what's shown here. As usual, training and personal responsibility would probably fix a lot of issues.
