Scott Kelby’s Shoot Like a Pro: Reloaded! Seminar Tour (Please note the new date: Dec. 1)

Are you ready to take your photography skills to the “next level?” Come join Scott Kelby — he’s back, live on stage with a follow-up to his most popular photography seminar ever, with Shoot Like a Pro: Reloaded!
This totally new tour, with all fresh new content, picks right up where the first tour left off and is packed with more of those “ah ha!” moments, more of eye-opening revelations, and more of the same clear, concise, and just downright fun photography training that made the first tour such a big hit.
The entire day is designed with one thing in mind: showing you the next level of concepts, ideas, and techniques to help you make the kind of images you’ve always dreamed of. Here’s what you’ll learn:

10:00AM - 11:15AM
The Secret Sauce
Have you ever seen some amazing image online — the kind of image you long to make, and then you read it was taken with a camera lens that isn’t even as good as the one you’re using? So you’re thinking there must be some button, some setting, some menu command that gives them such stunning results. Here’s the thing: it’s not a setting. It’s something else. They know the “Secret Sauce” that turns snapshots into the type of images you want to hang on the hall (and that hang in galleries). This class focuses on just that one topic and the main ingredients the pros use to create incredible images with whatever camera gear they already have (or whatever camera you hand them). An incredibly eye-opening session that will make you re-think everything!

11:30 – 12:45PM
Scott’s 7-Point System for Lightroom (or Camera Raw)
Scott’s “Seven Point System” book revolutionized how photographers edit their images, and in this all new live session you’re going to learn his latest updates and refinements to the system (including his own post processing “secret sauce”) for Lightroom (or Camera Raw) users. Once you learn these Seven Points, you’ll know exactly what to do, in what order, and why for every JPEG, Raw, and TIFF photo you edit. It will transform the way you edit your photos from this moment on.

1:45 - 3:00 PM
Really Great Lighting on a Really Tight Budget
Creating really beautiful, or really dramatic, or really just gorgeous lighting don’t have a cost a lot (in fact, it can be a downright bargain). In this session, Scott shows picks up where he left off in the first tour with this introduction to hot shoe flash and shows you step-by-step how to take your lighting to the next level, including which soft boxes, set-ups, accessories you need (and which you don’t) and how to put together a simple, inexpensive, but very powerful lighting set-up that’s easy to travel with, simple to use, and creates beautiful lighting wherever you go.

3:15 – 4:00 PM
The Stuff They Don’t Tell You
When Scott did this class for the first time, right after the class you know what so many participants came up to Scott to ask? “Why didn’t anybody tell us this stuff?! These are the things that, once you realize them, can propel your image-making to the next level because it opens your eyes to things that are usually passed one-on-one (maybe from a mentor to an apprentice), or not at all, but Scott lays it all out there, and really opens your eyes to a new way of thinking about photography that will transfer directly to the type of images you make from here on out. This will be one you’ll be talking about.

4:15 – 5:00 PM
Photo Recipes: A Cookbook of Looks (and exactly how to create them)
Here Scott brings his incredibly popular “Photo Recipes” to life on stage, and there recipes show you exactly what you need to know to create the most popular, most request, and most sought-after looks, feels, camera techniques, post processing tricks, and lighting so you can create the exact same type of images yourself (it’s easy, once you know the secrets). He’ll cover everything from lenses to camera settings, composition to subject manner, portraits to landscapes, and it’s an inspiriting and info-packed way to wrap up the day.

Best of all, you’ll have a complete, fully-detailed class workbook that follows right along with Scott’s live training (including a series of videos created just for this tour) so you don’t have to spend the day scribbling notes—instead you can relax, focus and take it all in.

So, you going?

And has anybody else attended one of his seminars? Just curious if it is worth a day's vacation to attend.

I see there is a group rate of $79 if you have 4 or more in your group.

Several of us went to a Joe McNally seminar in Houston a few years ago which was well worth the admission. He's a respected shooter so I'd have to guess this would be the same level of professionalism.

Thinking about it at the moment.... Can't commit as the Austin Beer Mile is that day as well. Well, I 'think' the Beer Mile is that day but there could be two of them in town now. Will know tonight.

OK.... The Beer Mile event is a different one than what I originally thought. So this is on my immediate radar. Rusty? Duke? Me? How does that cheaper rate get done if we pick up a fourth?

So I have a fourth person who can make it. I'm out of pocket for a bit this evening so can someone dig a little to find out how we register for the four person/group rate if possible?

Trice, I don't think we are limited to four. Rather, just takes at least four to get the rate. I could be wrong, but someone with time this evening could look into that?

Looks like it is not needed to purchase a group ticket(s) right away. Maybe we take a roll call Sunday afternoon and see how many of us are wanting to attend?

Duke, works for me. Looks like one person might have to spring for the group at one time for that rate and everyone pay them back?

I'm 90% in. Just need to coordinate taking the day off. I could use a change of pace.

ok, where do we stand with this?

I could take it or leave it. What say 'ye?

Wife is fine with me going. Got informal approval at work. Just a matter of pulling the trigger.

Rusty has his ticket as do I and we'll be riding down to the venue since Austin has free motorcycle parking everywhere. Duke is on the fence and will make a decision very early tomorrow morning if he's going to make it.

Should be a fun day..... :photo:

I certainly enjoyed the seminar. Learned quite a bit of Lightroom features I was unaware of and will use heavily in the future. The class content was also good and I picked up on a variety of nuggets here and there.

It was a good day. I learned some stuff and was entertained hearing some stuff over again. Lunch at the Iron works and coffee at Jo's. Then Texas Chili Parlour for dinner. Hmm, I guess this army travels on its stomach

Food seemed to always be involved.
I miss that.

Hanging with Rusty, yes is fun - food and adult beverage are typically on the list. I've had good examples of both with him as my guide.
