I'm going this year..... :-)

Just starting the planning of how to make this happen. Shooting looks to be a blast for sure. From messages with others who have shot this, Tue/Wed/Thurs seem to be the most active days. It's a haul out there and back, but man it looks fun.

Just google this: star wars canyon images

And a little audio/video for your pleasure:

That would be awesome to see in person! I never knew this existed, thanks for sharing!

Surfing a bit more on this, here is the guy I've been chatting with on FB about my trip this year. Joe seems to be a great guy and knows the particulars on how to shoot this successfully.

I'd almost accuse you of sifting through my youtube history but I've been watching the Mach Loop in Wales this past week. Check this on board footage.

I started doing some poking around on this, but can't find an answer. Is this year around or only a certain time of year? Is it all random with 1 a day or 30?

It's not a constant set of flight runs from what I'm learning myself. However, T/W/Th seem to be the most 'active' of the days of the week. I don't have numbers of flights yet either.

Today's weather? Currently 113*F. Ugh. Forecast high? 117*F

I'm thinking a July/August trip probably wouldn't be smart.

.....and don't tell me "it's a dry heat". lol
