The Dynamic Duo at the Alamo

I wanted to take a photo of the Alamo at twilight so I asked the Dynamic Duo of Scott (M38A1) and Bob (Tricepilot) if they would care to join my Saturday evening quest. To my great fortune they both agreed. With cameras and tripods in hand, we ventured into downtown San Antonio to see what we could capture. Here's a small sample.

The Dynamic Duo

The Alamo

The Tower of the Americas

I don't know the name of this building but I like the way it is lit.

In addition to our Alamo shots we spent several hours doing street photography in the area. Here is the link if you want to see more of my photos.

Re: The Dynamic Duo at the Alamo

The building pictured above is the Transit Tower. At least, that was its name when I was growing up in San Antonio in the 60s.

Currently named the Tower Life Building. But you are absolutely correct that at one time it was known as the Transit Tower.

You can't help but learn when you are with two master photographers.

Thanks Richard and Scott for the great evening learning photography in the field - my favorite way to learn.

Re: The Dynamic Duo at the Alamo

Wow, that new little 4/3 system cranks out some nice image material. I believe you achieved success with the twilight shot on the Alamo and the fact you were able to have no people in it was icing on the cake.

Yes, this was a wonderful time shooting, learning and having fun. (....ok, there might have been some drinking involved too, but you get the picture)

So, did the drinking take place BEFORE or AFTER the photo shoot??!

Re: The Dynamic Duo at the Alamo

Yeah, we maintained a healthy balance between shooting and drinking. It went like this - drink a little, shoot a little, repeat as many times as necessary.

He was making spray can poster art. He had a bunch of 11x17 posters for sale hanging on the wall behind him.
