That is one thing I miss since moving out of CA. I wish they could finally get their act together and get that passed in TX. But then, that would require the politicians to have a brain and really think about facts rather than about FUD

I've had a couple of similar experiences, it's like following Moses through the Red Sea how they see the CHP bike and give a big ole gap for them, where we'd be having to slow down or wiggle through. CA rocks for motorcyclists.

When i first moved out here from Ft.Worth,Tx. I wasn't sure about filtering but after doing it. All i can say is it's the best thing ever. But the last few years cagers like to blow across 2 sets of double yellow or white lines to get in or out of the HOV Lane and of course they never check their mirrors before doing so..

Had a CHP motor officer ahead of me in the split on the way home yesterday. Kinda funny we were just talking about it... Gold helmet, in front of the white helmeted BMW rider.

Was eating lunch today at Raising Canes Chicken in Downey,Ca. When a Downey Moto-Cop pulls up to grab lunch. We started talking about his bike he was on a Honda but he's a Harley Guy. We both use our bikes for travel 95% of the time and i told him that being fro Texas that being able to Lane Split here was the best thing ever...

Two nifty video clips above. I might agree about TX but IMHO the key to successful adoption here will be enlightenment on the part of drivers on the road more than by the politicians in legislative chambers.

Admitting I've never BTDT (filtering) and while cool to see the videos it still looks a bit intimidating to me as a rider. I suppose as with many things, practice and skills development (esp skills relating to 'reading the cues of the situation') goes a long way.
