Crappy Ethanol Gas

Well here in Cali our gas is just crap and its worse during winter months. Wanted something to combat the ethanol in our gas so was looking at BelRay All-In-One. But kept coming back to the K100 Treatment so got on Amazon and got a 32oz bottle that the UPS man just dropped off. Will put it in the bike tomorrow or the next day and run some in the GF's car also.......https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Re: Crappy Ethanol Gas

Just filled up using the K100 for the first time. My last tank averaged 38.8mpg for city and some freeway riding. Curious to see if the mileage gets better....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5g2r...ature=youtu.be

Re: Crappy Ethanol Gas

Videos on YouTube demonstrate that by mixing about 10% water with ethanol containing gasoline the water will absorb the ethanol and settle out in the bottom of the container where it can be drained off leaving only the gasoline.

Winter formulation is like watered down tea, larger metro areas get water. I noticed a performance drop in November and if doing a track day or autocross some additive would be in order.
Expect a letter from CARB any minute now Joe, if your cows produce methane it's prison time. Enjoy Cali.

That's funny... I always thought dairy products came from milk and milk came from cows. California is the top milk producing state in the US. They output about 4 times what Texas does.

Re: Crappy Ethanol Gas

Osmosis spray, get some. It's located to your right in aisle 3.

That juice you bought is a non issue, I like clean air and remember when every vehicle belched unburnt fuel as designed. Engineering and technology made us cleaner fossil fuel addicts, CARB made lawn equipment better and implemented vapor recovery. Both good.

RXP was big around here at one time, expensive but allowed a few daughter beater cars to pass smog inspection after a failed test. Ethanol attracts water then produces carbon build up when burned, mileage goes down and the throttle gets muddy. I recall spirited discussion here in 2005 when it was mandated, let us know if that juice does the trick.

Yes and true, ride past any bovine holding facility and the methane is thick. I was making fun of CARB studies in years past at dairy farms, I think they were trying to legislate cow poop.

Re: Crappy Ethanol Gas

I use StarTron. My generator for my house only gets used once or twice a year. With Startron it has never failed to start.

The best thing about it is that you cannot over treat it.

If the water is on the bottom how do you drain it off? I would like to see that done. But in reality I will never do it anyway. I just buy non-eth. When I tried the Startron I noticed the crummy gas still ran poorly. The non eth stuff I use is noticeably better performing.

Re: Crappy Ethanol Gas

For those that live near a Buccees I noticed they have a sign on their pumps that says ethanol free gas is coming soon.
