Just joined TWT. A friend of mine, "AusFletch" turned me on to this site. We just got back last week from a ride down to Mexico. The trip was wonderful. Check out AusFletch's thread called "its not an adventure."http://www.twtex.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22135. Its good reading.

I am trying to learn how to post photos. I'm usually pretty computer savy but I'm having trouble learning how to do this. I'll get it soon. I think my photos are just too big in size. I also have not figured out how to post a photo gallery yet either. Oh well.

After I get used to using the site and posting photos I think I will start a thread on my trip to Prudhoe Bay last June. There are some great pics and good stories to tell from this trip. I have acutally made the trip by motorcycle twice. Once in 1998 with my 17 year old daughter on a Goldwing and again this year on a 1150GS. I absolutly love Alaska and have been fortunate enough to have gone up there 5 times now. The other trips by plane.
Anyway, I hope to get started on the Alaska thread soon.

I suppose I should put a little about myself in here. I live in Austin and have been riding since I was 16. Never been without a motor for 37 years. I have worked for the Austin Police Department for 30 years and spent 11 of those years on Motors. I still do the Funeral Escorts here in town and if those of you in Austin see a white BMW K1200LT on a Funeral Escort pull up and say Hi. I promise not to shoot. Been married for 33 years to a wonderful wife and my daughter graduates with her Masters in Occupational Therapy next month. All those motorcycle wrecks over the years are catching up and she will come in handy.

I currently own a 2002 BMW R1150GS, and a 05 K1200LT. I have owned 5 goldwings, Valkery Interstate and a Road King that were used for the Funerals and for fun. I have concerns about the reliability of these Beemers but I love them soooooo.

"AusFletch" turned me on

Welcome. Glad you decided to spend some time here. This is one of only a couple sites I check every and the only one where I actually post. Scott and the gang have created a great community here. They even drop politics and talk about motorcycles occasionally. ;-) -Fletch

Welcome to the site!

:tab You can do photos several ways.

:tab If you do attachments, you are limited to 5 per post and the size restrictions are shown in the attachment dialog box that pops up in the message editor when you click the "Manage Attachments" button.

:tab You can include photos in the body of your post with the tag. Use this format:

(img)link to image(/img)

Change the () to [] when you do it for real. This requires you already have the image hosted online somewhere so you can link to it. Also, images bigger than about 800 X 600 will not be hard to view for many people because they will not fit on the screen all at once. I generally keep my images around the 640 X 480 size.

:tab If you want to display a LARGE image or if the content is not suitable for the forum, then use the [URL] tag to link to the image instead of having it display in the body of your post. The format for this is:

(url=link to image)Descriptive text(/url)

Again, just change the () to [] around the url to make it work.

:tab The TWT Photo Gallery is available to anyone that is a [url=http://www.twtex.com/forums/payments.php]Forum Supporter[/url].

Thank you for the tips on posting photos. I think I have it down now and look forward to sharring some stories.
