I decided to ride over to Cresson today to the Motorsport Ranch for the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association races. They actually started on Friday with a track day. Endurance races as well as some of the sprint races were held on Saturday. The race weekend concluded with the rest of the sprint races today. One of the Christian Motorcyclists Association chapters sets up at these races with a hospitality booth serving coffee and water. So I decided to go and see if I could help out. Plus it had been several years since I had a opportunity to go to these races.
I rode from home in Burleson this morning at around 6:30, south 174 to Joshua then onto FM917 heading for Godley. I made a stop here for breakfast.
Some of you may remember this place has been a destination for a couple of pie runs in the past.
Ready to fuel me up!!
From beautiful downtown Godley I get on 171 and make a short ride to Cresson.
The CMA chapter's hospitality setup. As you can see they are called Christ Rockets and are out of Arlington. They are primarily a sport bike oriented chapter. Here is a link to their website: http://cmascr4.org/TXN/CHRISTROCKETS[FASTLANE]
Here are some shots of some of the racing action.
I saw this rig while walking the pits.
I actually have one of these Yamahoppers that this guy is on out in garage. I am working on getting running. Pretty neat little machine with shaft drive and a single sided swing arm. It uses a 2-stroke 50cc motor with oil injection.
Nice looking DL1000
I left around 4 and headed on home. Coming back towards Godley on 171 then FM917 all the to FM731 just south of Burleson. It was really a good day and got to see lots of folks that I had not seen in awhile. I also got to make some new friends. Even though it was hot it was a great ride!!
