Well, I couldn't resist shooting this. I thought today would be a no camera day. Here is a hand held shot of the moon and what I'm pretty sure is Venus. Used my new 100-400mm lens at about 135mm.

Cool shot! I saw it last night about about 7 pm, and thought it was a plane. It never moved, so I wondered what it was, but I never looked into it.

Excellent shot, thank you. Was out walking poodles with wife and eldest daughter last evening--saw the same view. Yes, venus. Love astronomy and watching night skies!
 
I enjoyed that view last night when taking out the trash. Meant to sneak back out & try to capture the image, but forgot.
