Harley Project

Does it sound as good as it looks?

It has not been started yet.
Very soon!:rider:
I still need to run oil lines, fill and bleed new brakes, dial in carb, add speed and tach cables and a few small wiring issues.
It will be at the make A Wish show in Amarillo March 3,4,5.

Edit: also waiting on the foam for the seat to arrive, and the air filer logo.

Amarillo Make A Wish show 3-3-17
I got the worst spot in the whole dang venue.
If anybody sees it, it will be because they knocked it over.
I want to display it vertically, on a special stand, but the close proximity to moving sheeple has me afraid it will get knocked over.
Obligatory fuzzy picture.

Nice work. Very nice work.

A friend of mine got some pics of the bike that won't be shaky and fuzzy, I will post them when he sends them to me.

How the 1978 coming along?

I haven't done anything with the 78, for several reasons.
My Mom began having serious health issues last July, and We spent most of the late summer and fall in hospitals, rehabs and back to the hospital, back to rehab, etc.
We finally had to move her to Assisted Living, and I had to empty her house and do a full make ready and paint on it to sell it to pay for assisted living.
It hasn't sold yet , and We are paying for both places.
Assisted living alone is over 5K per month, so, the 78 is on a back burner.
I will probably sell the 78.

My 77 XLCR was well received, but no awards for it.
Here is the perfect example of IRONY.
The People's Choice Award went to a clone XLCR done up in Star Wars livery......
Go figure....

What next? Are you going to do another show bike or one for you to ride?

Still riding one of the SL350s I got from you!

Howdy!
This bike will be a rider, already have it insured.:rider:
I still have my SL-350, haven't done anything with it yet.

Looks to durn nice for me to ride. What an interesting ride. Isn't that the one that you said was so rare?

I will only ride it on dry sunny days and special rides.
Basically, a Sunday rider. It appraised last week at $25,000.00.
There were 3,135 of these bikes built in 77-78 with 9 being built in 79.
I also have a 78 model, which needs a full resto.

Man I would love to see them both fully restored side by side. Not too many if any have two. The first one turned out really well.:rider:

Thank you, sir!
I would have to sell the first one to be able to afford to restore the second one!:rider:
I ended up having around 15k PLUS my labor in the first one.
