1975 CB550K1 project - $700 OBO (Price drop...) - Located in Midland, TX. I've restored a couple of 1970's Honda twins in recent years, and I thought I was going to do a SOHC 4 next until I got bit by the dual sport bug. My XR650L and CRF450X are crowding this project out of the garage...

I picked up the bike and spent an additional $700 assembling parts. The carburetor rack is restored and ready to go. The engine kicks over and the transmission shifts through all gears. Make me an offer and take over this project!!

Oh man I wish! I'd love to have a bike like this and restore it instead of "cafe" it out like what seems to be more common.

I had one exactly like that one... well it was much newer then! If fact, it was my first street bike. I had lots of fun on it as a teenager.

I even learned the importance of chain maintenance one night when the chain came off and locked the rear wheel up :eek2: . I rolled it back on (didn't crash) and eased 'er to the house.

Tempting... Very tempting!!!

I bought a new '75 550 and rode the heck out of it for 12 years, never had a single problem with it. I only sold it because I had 2 kids by then and couldn't ride any more. These bikes are bullet proof and I would love to have this one and restore it back to her original glory, but Midland is just too far away from me. Good luck on the sale.
