Re: Emma Long ride....

Weather man said no rain in the morning. Woke up and it was pouring. Going to try a little later today if I can get a kitchen pass.

Last I heard yes. He said he was tired of the bush whacking which is why he got the DR650.

Re: Emma Long ride....

Sunrise is 6:56 tomorrow morning. I'll be on the trail right around that time or a little earlier as my headlight works well enough at dusk. Will ride for about 1.5 hours before it gets hot.

Re: Emma Long ride....

Was out on the trail at sunrise and about 10 minutes into the ride when I started hearing a clanking sound. Discovered one of the bolts under the seat that supports the muffler was missing. Thankfully I was able to get back on the street and go home and make repairs. Family was at an activity so I headed back and got another hour and a half ride in. I discovered a cut off that basically goes through the middle of the park and dumps out at the parking lot. While I'm glad to know that it's there I probably won't ride it again because you miss a bunch of the cool stuff.

Re: Emma Long ride....

Man Emma was brutal (again) with not much room to make my own wind. But I saw a friendly face and met a new friendly face here inspiring me to ride on. It was a good time.

I also ran into a KTM rider name Dave on the trail. He was catching his breath after getting stuck on an uphill climb. Much faster rider than me as I never saw him again.

I've gotten faster at picking up my bike there. I can't brag much outside of that

Sunday you say? I have to check my calendar, but the KTM hasn't been started in a couple of months, it's probably feeling neglected.

If JT is going to be there, I got to see if I can get myself out there. I'll post up and let you know. I usually start my ride at the top of the park and work my way down to the parking lot so I'll try to be there around 8:00.

Re: Emma Long ride....

I plan to be there again Sunday morning also, hopefully by sunrise at the latest but that's a stretch goal. Don't anybody wait for me, especially since the only relief you're gonna get is to just keep moving as the day progresses.

Re: Emma Long ride....

The Wee developed a case of SDEP (Sudden Decrease of Electrical Power). I got less than an hour away from home and had to turn around. Very disappointing, had been planning that trip for 2 months.

Silver lining; I switched vakay and now have 2 consecutive weeks off. I think I hear Mexico calling.
