Adventure Breakfast - 5/6/17 @ 9a Los Dos Amigos in Center Point + 2-day ride option

In for both days, plus my son -- separate bikes. Staying at the executive inn. See you bad boys tomorrow. Woot

I am planning to ride about half of the first day with you guys. Are the dirt roads okay for two up riding? Actually three up If you count Baxter! Want to bring the GF and don't want to ride anything too rough with her on back.

I'm late to organize overnight stay but looking like I'll camp. Rough packing suggests my camping gear my fit on the 250.

Trying to decide which bike to take. Super Ten with new knobbies or the DR650.
Leaning towards taking the the big bike...

Most of the dirt roads on the Saturday route are after noon. Even so most of those are class 1 like the rest of the hill country. Now water crossing(s) are a different story - see post 13 & 15.

I plan to merge with the group before Fredericksburg

I think that quote just about sums up our weekend. Hannah and I had a total blast with y'all and look forward to doing that again in the near future. I was feeling rather poor this morning, most likely due to dehydration and perhaps allergies from all the dust yesterday. The good news is the Aleve started working by the time we made it to Llano and we had pretty smooth sailing on the way home, topping out just above 50 mph into the massive headwind. Hannah's got a great story to tell her friends at school and I now have a carrot to use with her to make sure she stays in line. She LOVED the ride, the staying in the motel, the whole experience. Thank you all for help in making some great memories. Looking forward to making more in the future.

Many times we talk about the people that make motorcycling great. This weekend was another prime example, fantastic group all great riders and good stories. I like the 2 day rides for many reasons including getting to explore further away from home than a day ride allows but also it's the extra time to spend and get to know other riders. Kind of like a 2 day summer camp.

The diversity was at an all-time high.

Three up on a KLR650, two adults and Baxter
225CCs to 1200CCs over 8 brands of motorcycles.

I'm already working on the next breakfast. I probably won't do another multi-day ride until the Fall other than Cloudcroft, but you never know...
