My 89 K100 rear wheel was not spinning freely. The tire seemed to bind when rotated. Thought it might be brake pads or a caliper problem. Removed the rear tire, brake pads, and checked the caliper. All seemed to be good. The problem seems to be in the drive shaft. Turning the wheel with the tire off a binding sensation or lack of free turning can be felt. Any thoughts. Is it time to put her down? Every thing on the bike from the clock to the ABS works. Currently has about 87k on it. As always thanks for any suggestions or help. Ken in Katy.

No guarantees but you might find some good info at these sites:

http://www.ibmwr.org/ktech.shtml

http://www.k100-forum.com/forum

Links to those sites and many others are in Robert "Snowbum" Fleischer's site ( http://bmwmotorcycletech.info/technical-articles-list.htm ) which is unique and voluminous. If you start noodling around there you'll likely get distracted as I do and probably get nothing done . . . but you'll have fun.

It might be more productive to contact Cuznbob at his shop in Austin right off the bat. LINKY to TWT Vendor's Forum

Good Luck!
