V-Strom owners thread

After riding quite a few of the 650's, and putting 88k miles on a 1000; if I were to do it all over again I would buy the 650 in a heartbeat.
 
I have a 06 dl1000. I think it comes down to how much power do you want and what kind of gas mileage do you want. I have not ridden the DL 650 But I have heard it has plenty of power. As far as v-strom series I don't think you can't go wrong with either of them.
 
Tshelfer, thanks for your excellent observations, the result of many miles in the saddle! I do like that the smaller V is lighter and more managable, and has the more refined engine. I am looking forward to a test ride on the 650, with my wife on the back and see how the motor feels...I think I will be pleasantly surprised...

You're welcome. If you were in my neighborhood, I'd offer you a test ride. But, plenty of Vees and Wees around Austin.

Good move Rod! I tried to get my wife interested in that bike, but she thought it was too tall:doh: I did finally get her K75 running again so I think you will both be happy:giveup:
 
Its notta brand new one..... But close enough. Mary kept it nicely
....&.....all my stuff from Goldie fits!
