650 VStrom vs Versys 650

Strictly bike vs.bike a big difference is the Versys has a 5.5" shorter wheelbase.
That's huge in determining the bike to match your purpose.

My wife is the perfect wife. She's the one you should marry; except she's taken and has been for 39 years, so you'll have to look elsewhere and settle for second best.

Oh yeah, VStroms and Versys'. Versi? Anyway, as I mentioned earlier, lots of TWTers own one or the other, or maybe both in rare instances. I'm sure you can wrangle a test ride somewhere. For those in the Metroplex, I've offered my 650 for an occasional test ride, and don't mind doing so again.

Thank you all for the great info. Taking all the info provided here and my own personal research I am going to put the VStrom as my first choice. I will start shopping around for preowned and see what deals I can find.

Thanks again!

A little late to the discussion, but I like the VStrom. I have ridden a limited amount on the jeep trails in Colorado and gravel roads in Texas, but I like it. Since it sounds like you want to do some camping with the bike check out my bike and campsite from my time near Ouray this past summer - [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKUl9IAfYWU"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKUl9IAfYWU[/ame]
