it did not come off that car, it was in the road and they ran over it.
too distracted looking at all the new gizmos in the car to be paying attention to where they were going.
 
Step through the video a few frames at a time. The lane in front of the car is clear, and the muffler can be seen dragging underneath. No question it came from that car. Was is new? Doesn't look like it had a metal license plate yet.
 
Muffler looks like those stainless steal aftermarket rice burner pipe can.
Was the driver Asian?

Couldn't tell. But my step-son is and neither him or his friends "Rice" out their cars.....

Yep still had a paper tag. That area it came from is nothing but new car dealerships.
