2008 Starting Mileage

Man, I've been using the truck way to much.

Here are my miles.

Wing - 2075
Bandit - 550
DR - 30
XT - 22

Total for year - 22,323

I was so disappointed with my DR mileage for last month I decided to take the DR to work today. Well, I have already triple my mileage. :rider:

I wrapped up the year with only 6,854 miles. I haven't been on the bike if I haven't been commuting. It's less than 10 miles, one way. No vacation or trips this year. :tears:

Well, thank goodness for commuting. I was in the same boat. With the exception of my end-of-the-year trip to Sandia, most of my mileage was probably from commuting (8 miles each way).

But I can plead electrical problems for keeping my mileage down!

13877 on the Gypsy.

Didn't put much on it last year, but I'm expecting more this year. I'm trying to find a bike for other half, so we can rack up miles together.

Well, I wound up buying a second bike so I split the miles:

Gypsy:
Jan 1 2008 = 13877
Jan 1 2009 = 16625
Total in 08 = 2748

ST1300 (bought in Feb)
Purchase = 8500
Jan 1 2009 = 12278
Total in 08 = 3778

Both bikes total = 6526

Not quite what I had hoped. After Jo's accident, I spent some time off the bikes and for most of the year, my commute was 1 mile round trip. With the longer commute this year, I will wind up putting about 2k more miles on the bike from that alone.

Hoping to hit 8k this year, but with Jo not riding, I will probably be doing far fewer bike trips this year. But she did buy me a nice book for Christmas that will help.... "Backroads of the Texas Hill Country". Should inspire some good trip ideas for when I do get out.

In the end, it doesn't matter how many miles I rack up. It's how much I enjoy them!! And last year was an enjoyable year on two wheels.

Good safe riding to all for this year.

10,965 miles for the year. not bad and like M38A1, I never left the state. I, too, have to go for a ride.

I can do a self confession here...my 10,965 miles were logged never west of Brenham, never north by more than 6 miles of Huntsville, never east of Jasper, and never south of Blessing. there were some PGR missions there but very few "fun" rides. Commuter miles. Better this year I hope.
