If considering the NT, then also give the NC700 a glance. Different but similar capabilities are possible.

I'm so happy with it right now, and I'm not sure what I'll need first. I'm going to ride it and see what I like and don't like.

I'm thinking that I'm going to move the ninja, because I'm so happy with the new bike.

Re: Light Sport tourer

FZ6 is a great lightweight tourer. If any one wants one with some toruing goodies already installed such as bar risers and givi racks go to the old Yammie/SUuzki west shop over off 820 they have mine.

My new "light sport tourer" is a F800ST. I do miss my FZ6 but this bike runs smoother (lower vibes) than the FZ6. When I get tired of this bike I think I'm gonna look for a shaft drive NT700V.

Edit- I'm glad to hear you got the FZ6 and not the "R" model. All that bike had was fancier plastics (which for some reason sells better than a bike that's actually better in the US) and had crappier everything else. Heavier steel frame, downgraded brakes and suspension, ect.

Folks on the FZ6 site used to joke the R stood for "reduced" lol. IMO the FZ6 looked way sexier than the fugly FZ6R anyway.

Yes I saw your old bike in Hurst. Lots of mods on it. Your new bike looks great. I wish I could have a BMW f800st like that. Do you think you'll like the NT700 over the BMW? Iwould thinkit would be the other way. A NT to the BMW for the power.

Re: Light Sport tourer

Power isn't high on my list of things I need when I look at a bike. If it was I'd be back on a FJR I actually enjoy the smaller lower powered bikes more. It doesn't feel like I'm un-mooring the starship Enterprise when I leave the garage with the smaller bikes either lol

I wouldn't mind the NT700 even with the lower power with the maint. free (other than fluid changes) final drive, and stone-ax Honda reliability. As long as it'll run 80ish comfortably I'm good to go.

That was big deal for me to stay with a mid size bike. I ride every day, and I didn't want a bike that was work to get in and out for short trips.

One does get used to the size/weight of a bike, but I totally understand the desire to stick small.
Heck, after riding my OldWings, my VFR feels like a featherweight, and that at ~500lbs
