Howdy,

:tab Many of you know Jack because he has organized a lot of RTE events here the last few years. Saturday morning he injured his leg when his bike started to fall over as he was rolling it out before a ride and he prevented it from going down. Something "snapped" in the back of the lower leg. He's been to the ER and will be seeing a specialist in the next few days to see what the extent of the damage may be. Hopefully it is nothing that will require surgery or him being off his feet for an extended period of time.

:tab Also, Jack is going to be going in for some "porting and polishing" (his words) of his sinuses. This is a pretty serious surgery and he was already going to be off work a few weeks for this. Now there is some concern that the leg injury might interfere with the schedule of the sinus surgery which he REALLY wants to get done so he can get some much needed relief.

:tab Please keep Jack and his wife, Tina, in your prayers.

Ouch and yikes! I hope the leg is just banged up a bit because that would be way better than something breaking or popping out from where it should be. Hoping we all hear good news for him soon!

Get well soon amigo, as we miss you already. If you need a hand, hollar. It will be a LOT better shortly. Hardy

Praying for speedy recovery with the leg, Jack, and success with the "port and polishing."

Big hugs to ya Jack. I'll even post up a RTE or two while you're recovering. ;-)

Yes, of course for Jack. May all your procedures are successful. And recovery is fast.
Tom

Praying for you Bro that the leg heals quick, you get ported and polished and that Tina doesn't kill you for being a pain while you are healing up.

Prayers sent. Hopefully the pop was nothing serious. As for the sinuses, I have a dremel and have experience with cylinder heads. I work cheap! :trust:
Hope you're up and running soon. Sam & Shirley

Jack, very sorry to hear this, hope it is nothing too serious and the sinus procedure con proceed as planned.

We need you back planning RTEs!

I will keep you and Tina in my good thoughts and prayers.

Praying for you guys. I hope it is nothing serious. This is the time when banked sick leave is precious.... and insurance.

I hate it when bikers get hurt doing something we love, rather it is riding or preparing to ride. I can't tell you how many times I have almost hurt myself just trying to move bikes around the garage. I feel for you, understand your predicament, and will pray in ernest for you.

Thinking of you. Prayers sent! If there is anything I can do for you please call.

:tab Got a message from Jack. NO SURGERY on the leg!! Sinus surgery will proceed on schedule. Apparently there is no tendon damage, but there was tearing in the calf muscle which should heal without too much trouble.

:tab Please keep him in your prayers for a good result and quick recovery from the sinus work.

That is GREAT news!!! Heal on, Jack! Get those sinuses roto-rootered and feel great soon!

Just saw this thread, been kinda busy the past couple of days. Thanks Scott.

Thanks so much for thinking of me and my wife right now. Your prayers and thoughts mean a lot to us.

Quick update....

The leg----The fact that I have a deep muscle strain as opposed to a torn achilles is beyond good news. I was so happy when the ortho dr told me is was just a severe strain and not a tendon problem. I had injured this leg 13 years ago and it has never been the same, so not having to get cut on really made me feel a lot better about my situation.

I am in a medical boot for a month, so I'll have a few weeks of that. I tore it pretty bad, but not loose. There is a big knot on the back of my calf, but it's still way better than a tendon issue.

I am not in any constant pain. I get some sharp pains when I move it in certain ways. I am moving around for the first time today without crutches, albeit slowly. So my outlook is very good today.

Sinus'--I was already scheduled to be off work from the 10th thru the 1st for sinus surgery. I have had earaches and sinus issues my entire life. The CT showed that there were some mechanical issues and that a surgery was about the only option left. I have been dealing with this last sinus flareup for several months now.

My surgery is still a "go" for Thurs. and I am eager to see if this will help me. My sinus' trigger migraines and you know how those can be. And those of you who have sinus issues know how yucky it makes you feel. I am hoping for some good results there.

Thanks for your prayers and thoughts.

fyi--I am Correctional Officer for the State of Texas so I have BCBS and have above average coverage. Most of my stuff is 80/20 with some copays. So that part is all good. A big blessing indeed.

I have enough time off saved at my job that I my income should not be effected by these two issues. So again, another huge blessing.

Unless something comes up none of us foresee, this is just a mild inconvenience for us. God has provided and your post have done nothing but make me even more sure that things will work out fine.

I'll post up when there is anything worth reporting.
