Re: Wildernessrider Ozark Dirt Rambling Rendezvous

Man I so wish I could do this. I really want to see Donny's ranch.

Donny, what days do you allow visitors? I might like to get a group out there sometime this fall much like we do at Hidden Falls.

Would love to ride the ranch with you.

Re: Wildernessrider Ozark Dirt Rambling Rendezvous

Glad you are coming up Doug. Nice opportunity to give our two Africa Twins a proper Ozark adventure bike sort out. And your new YZ 250X should be perfect for taming the Wilderness Rider Ranch logging roads. Gonna be great fun! So are you planning on camping on the property, staying in a local rental cabin, or a grabbing a room at the Hub?

Re: Wildernessrider Ozark Dirt Rambling Rendezvous

Man I really wish I did not already have plans that weekend.

Donny, I want to organize a big group to come out next year much like the hidden falls groups I have done. A) What is the first month that weather starts to get nice and B) will you be open to guests?

my6 and Travel Diva - you will be sorely missed. Are you renting bikes in Italy? I've heard that it is a beautiful place to motorcycle. Regardless, have a blast. You are welcome at the ranch anytime you wish. Buon viaggio!

Re: Wildernessrider Ozark Dirt Rambling Rendezvous

Brad, I really like riding in the latter part of March, or early April before everything leafs out. The trail is so much easier to read before all the ground clutter plants bloom. And you can see all the natural stone features that the forest hides in the summer. The not so good part about that time of year is that it can be balmy and spring like, rainy and kinda cold, to frigid and snowing like crazy. Most years in the early spring we will experience all these things at some point. Guessing which particular week is going to be full of those nice balmy blue sky days is the real trick. Even waiting until late April or even early May does not exclude you from possibly picking a cold wet weekend. But it will guarantee you won't see the trails or as much of the land features. Just luck of the draw on when we get those last few winter cool fronts blowing thru from the North.

Re: Wildernessrider Ozark Dirt Rambling Rendezvous

I think there are a few other members who also would like to visit the ranch, but couldn't make this event. Maybe we can get another bunch up before the harsh winter weather sets in.

Hi Lynne and Donny, if you can do another one of these, try the first or second weekend of November and SAB and I will be there.
