Nov, Dec, and Jan were all pretty good months. Looks like people have been buying camera gear :lol2:

I just want to thank all the folks that have been using the link! On the good months, it is almost enough to cover our monthly data center fees. I will likely be buying a new server in the not too distant future to replace our current server which is a little over 8 years old and still running on the original equipment. So this helps with covering the cost of a new server as well.

Keep forgetting about this, till someone posts here

Me too.

At least a sticky, but a small banner up top would be a great marketing reminder.

I have bookmarked the TWT link ... I think that works.

There is a banner up top, sometimes ;-) It is part of the random banner rotation pool so it doesn't display every single time a page loads.

That just takes you to the page here on TWT where it explains everything. Here is the actual link that you would need to bookmark,

http://www.amazon.com/?tag=twowhetex-20

The amounts received per purchase are not large. I think the biggest is around 5%, but most are more like 2-3%. However, if a lot of people use it on a regular basis, it will add up to a few hundred bucks a month, which almost covers the monthly data center hosting fees for our server.

Agreed, bookmark is the way to go, it's really easy to forget. When you order something through TWT Amazon, it costs you $0 extra but Amazon kicks in a nice fee for TWT, it's a Must Do.

Also, it helps to make a post here with your latest order, that helps remind others and can help Scott spot check his Amazon reports to make sure nothing is missing. :sun:

Since I can't use the TWT link myself (or my family members), I use the link for Scorch's Subsim forum. He probably likes me right now because I have been buying a lot of photo gear using his link in the last few months... :photo:

I do like you, I feel obligated as the dickens to reciprocate too, ha ha.

Yes, I cannot use my affiliate with Amazon, so I use TWT because someone needs to get some $$ from Amazon. If not Scott, then who? Bernie, probably, so say yes to Scott and no to Socialism.

I have a technical question about the link. I, like many, have THE link in my bookmarks, whenever I go to Amazon. I do my searching, questions and comparisons, many windows and tabs. When I'm ready, I push the purchase button. Is the TWTex ID maintained throughout the session, as long as I don't close the browser? Or, once I find the item, do I need to again use the link to complete the purchase?

Similarly, most of my purchases are from a wishlist. I may add three or four similar items to easily compare reviews and pricing.

I go to youtube and random searches of forums about end users experiences outside of the normal channels.

so when I go back and retrieve the item from my wishlist, is it still tagged TWT?

Bookmarked it. Most importantly; I sent it to my wife and got HER to bookmark it. Let my money start rolling in! ;)

I'm not 100% sure, it used to be stated by Amazon, that once a person used the link to land at Amazon, no mater where he looked on Amazon's site, the affiliate ID was retained, for something like 24 hours. Looks like it is still the case: https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/help/t2/a11

I do know, on my site, that I have 10 or so guys who post their purchases in an Amazon goodies thread, so I can check my reports and make sure the purchases do show up, and 19 out of 20 times, they are there.

:tab I am sure it works off of the cookies. So long as you enter the site from the TWT link, it does not matter how many tabs you open in the browser as long as at least one stays open to Amazon the whole time. If you add the items to your cart, then it should work.

:tab If I LEAVE the site and close the browser completely for ANY length of time, I will usually go to the link to reenter the site, then add what I want to the cart just to make sure. It would be nice if Amazon gave the shopper some way to make sure whether or not their purchases are being credited to the desired affiliate before the completion of the purchase.

whats the deal with Amazons free shipping? I ordered a book from them and went with standard free ship.
they ship it UPS ground but instead of UPS delivering it to me they take it to the post office so the USPS can deliver it that "last mile"

if I had paid for up grade shipping the driver would have stopped on his way past the house on his way to the post office?

Well, instead of stopping at your house for one package, he stops at the post office for 30 packages. The USPS is already going to go through your neighborhood, door to door, every day, regardless of what UPS is doing. It's a sound business decision.

:tab Well, it is October, and for many people that means the holiday shopping season is just around the corner. TWT doesn't make massive amounts of money through the Amazon associate program for each item purchased, but the cumulative effect of many purchases does add up over time, kind of like the $5/mo forum donations. If you shop at Amazon using the TWT affiliate link, a small percentage of your qualifying purchases is paid back to TWT. There is no difference in the price on your end. Here is the link,

http://www.amazon.com/?tag=twowhetex-20

For details on how it works, read the first post in this thread. If you can remember to bookmark the link and use it whenever you shop Amazon throughout the year, it will go a long way toward supporting TWT!

Thanks!

P.S. For those of you that already know about and use this feature, THANKS!

I shared it with the wife (more or less demanded she use that specific link). Since ~half of the stuff we purchase comes from Amazon (excepting fresh food, obviously), you should be seeing input from my house. She likes clothes - lots and lots of clothes - and shoes/boots....and I can't complain about her boots...I like them, too - on her.

Thanks!

We buy a ton of stuff too. I use the link for another forum since I cannot use my own. My wife uses yet another link to support a local ministry here in town.

I had been thinking about creating an Amazon subforum, maybe in the Sponsors section for lack of a better place for it. The idea being that people could post links to deals they find that others might be interested in seeing. When the links are posted here, they automatically get the tag appended that credits TWT for the purchase if they buy anything. It is amazing how much motorcycle/auto related stuff they sell now. What do you folks think about that idea?
