I have a full gallon of the best stuff on the planet: Safety Seal Tire Mounting Lube.

Come by and you can have a jar of it for free.
If it's a high horsepower bike it should have a rim lock.

Gary & Patrick, thanks for the ideas on carrying lube. Sounds like everyone improvises.

I carry small generic travel tube thing you can typically find in a CVS or Wal Mart. It has never busted.

More is better when it comes to tire lube.

This is how you do it: (click on "watch this video on YouTube")

Actually this is from an epic ride report on ADV:

The Pan American Trail

You really should check out that ride report. Unlike anything I've seen.

I'll second that ride report. Those dudes killed it. I'm about to slap a new rear tire on the WR if anyone wants to fart around with some tires/tubes soon.

I hope cannonshot had a new tire waiting. The old one looks used up!

Keep your eyes open and be safe. A well seasoned rider went missing last week in nearby Urique.

Thanks man

Trail Boss, Thomas M, Jeff S, and I are well aware of that story

And in fact, we'll be digging around in Urique to see what we can find on him

We're doing the Sinforosa Dive Bomb. If the weather holds, it will be epic

Re: Mad Scientist Tire Academy

When you use shorty levers you are required to have a good technique. I've been doing all my tire and tube change this way for the last 7 years, even on my occasional street bikes. I've only pinched one tube, and that was right when I first started riding again.

What tool pouch is that? I like that little zippered pocket.
