Meeting for lunch Thursday

The Switch
Cool, Texas
1100-ish

http://www.theswitchcafe.com/

From there, meander and explore mostly west, south and back east.

Suggested ...
4 south of Palo Pinto
3137 west or Lakeside Drive west to Gordon
South out of Gordon on Blue Flat loops back to 20 where it becomes Panama Rd and follows the rail line back east to Santo.
129 out of Santo still east goes through Brazos and eventually intersects 281 just north of 20.

That appears to be all paved ... except for Panama road which might have a short stretch of hard pack gravel. not sure.

If you are dirt minded, off of Blue Flat:
- Elkins road which becomes CR136, 139, 3208 and 2803 and intersects 281. Just north on 281 is 146 and it winds around and intersects 1189 between Morgan Mill and Lipan.

- Sunday creek Rd which becomes CR 142, 141 and then 2803.

I believe we're in (2). Panama Rd, if it's the one I'm thinking of is gravel as far as I went (turned around after a little bit, it's not a dirt bike) .

Starting at Cool ...

Garner
Graford
Palo Pinto
Gordon (via Lakeview Drive)
Santo (via Blue Flat and Panama)

About 80 miles.

I'll turn south on 4 out of Santo heading for Granbury.

Thanks Mitch & Rod for an enjoyable afternoon. Hope everyone got back ok :)

It was a good day for a ride.
Good crowd and met some nifty folks ...

No crowd shots, but got a few of the parking lot ...

But, truth be told ... any day slacking is a good day.

I'm curious ... did anyone else get grief for attempting to pay with a $20 bill?

The spotted lady looked at me and said "We have a problem if all of you are going to pay with a $20".
I wanted to say "We? You gotta mouse in your pocket?"

But instead, I pulled out all my singles and said "I have just enough to cover the bill, but nothing but a $20 for a tip."
She said "That's OK."

30.06/30.07 posted and now grief trying to pay for my meal with legal tender.

I think the new owners are communist.
I doubt I'll go back.

I'm really sorry I missed this one. Looks like some nice Beemers showed up including a fellow RS'er.

I love that red, white and blue custom paint on that 1600!

Nice to see platinum bronze RT's were well represented. Would've loved to add another. Maybe next slacker gathering.

Personally, I won't spend my money at any location that has the 30.06/30/07 signs posted. With that said, if they only have 30.07, but not 30.06 (kind of like Fuzzy's Tacos), then I will still go there.

"Vote with your money" is a better way to protest than just about anything IMO.

The Red/White/Blue 1600 belongs to Andy Jones of the FTW BMW club. He repaints all of his BMW bikes to the BMW Motorrad Racing colors.

The Blue RS is mine and making a rare appearance. I almost always have my RT out instead, but it was such a beautiful day for the "clean" bike. :sun:

The Bronze RTs are also my fellow BMW club members Mike and Rick and the white 1000XR belongs to member Sture Lundgren. The BMW GS with the colorful bags is Howard's.

We had a great time invading another one of the Slacker luncheons!

We all split from there, each one having to attend some kind of personal business. We did get to ride some on the way out to the Switch. :rider:
