LCRA Rainfall Summaries

I was curious about some of the rainfall totals with this most recent rain event so I wandered over to LCRA's site of monitoring stations. This might be a useful link for riders to see what rainfall totals have been for the past three days at a variety of locations. If you click the link on the actual monitoring station name, you'll get data posted every 15 minutes to get a feel for activity.

James river.... wow.

Next, I went over to the Stage Flow data and that's another good resource showing flow rates, and flood stage status. Again, clicking on any of the locations gives the specific information on bank stage, flood stage and is also color coordinated for over (red)

Hope it helps some....

Re: LCRA Rainfall Summaries

Along those same lines, this site might be useful for folks,

https://drivetexas.org/

Looks like the entire hill country area has tons of road closures due to flooding! October is usually a BUSY month for the Hill Country because it is typically prime riding season. I bet there are a LOT of events that are being canceled or rescheduled right now. No doubt, this will be tough on the local folks and businesses that depend on the busy season.

If you want government to intervene domestically, you’re a liberal. If you want government to intervene overseas, you’re a conservative. If you want government to intervene everywhere, you’re a moderate. If you don’t want government to intervene anywhere, you’re an extremist. — Joe Sobran

It is no crime to be ignorant of economics, which is, after all, a specialized discipline and one that most people consider to be a ‘dismal science.' The accepted wisdom is that without the state, society would collapse into lawlessness and crime. In fact, lawlessness and crime define the very nature of the state and the society organized by it. - Bionic Mosquito

But the myth of the rule of law does more than render the people submissive to state authority; it also turns them into the state's accomplices in the exercise of its power. For people who would ordinarily consider it a great evil to deprive individuals of their rights or oppress politically powerless minority groups will respond with patriotic fervor when these same actions are described as upholding the rule of law. - John Hasnas
