We lost Daytrader....

John Sherman passed away due to a blood clot in his lungs; and left us all too soon at 57 years old. He rode a KLR when I first met him, bought a Big GS his first stay in Austin, then worked as a construction foreman on a very fancy house back east in Maine, I think......John was originally from Chicago, and had an early career in the Marines including a stint at the horrible fighting in Beirut in the early 80's........He attended our Austin lunch meetup at Billy's and Ken's coffee trailer and made friends with a bunch of us.......and not long ago we met at Jo's downtown for coffee and breakfast and he was showing off his new Mini Cooper........I am still in shock but know that he had a faith in God.....and hopefully is in a better place today....

I'm in shock too. Found out via Facebook last night. I exposed him to fun photographing the MotoGP race last year and we were talking about going again. And as Mark mentioned we'd meet up for breakfast downtown occasionally and the last was a month or so ago and he had that sweet new car.

Re: We lost Daytrader....

I'm sad.... John and I spent a lot of time talking about a variety of topics, having coffee and riding the backroads around South Austin. When he moved to Maine, we still found time to connect. I never did make that trip up there he offered.... He was one of the good guys and will be sorely missed in not only my life but that of all the others he touched in a positive manner.

Re: We lost Daytrader....

Very sad news. I only met John a few times and that was several years ago. He was a healthy and happy person then. What happened, was he in poor health that would cause clots in his lungs.

My prayers are with his family and loved ones.

Re: We lost Daytrader....

I remember sitting on a grass hill with Daytrader John at Moto GP at the Circuit of the Americas and enjoying a conversation with him between races. Yes he has gone home and will be missed.
Wouldn't IMHO be a self contradiction. Announcing I'm humble is anything but. I'm proud to be humble?
