Re: Thursday North Austin Lunch M&G

Sorry I missed it. I had planned on going. But I decided this morning to replace my fuel filter, which is inside the tank. Bad idea. It took much longer than expected......

M38A1, if you ever want to change your fuel filter, I can tell you how not to do it.

See you next time.

Ah grasshopper...... I've done it twice now. Those pesky one-time BMW clamps are a bear, huh? And getting the new ones on tight are a bear, huh? And then remembering the orientation of the plate is a bear, huh? Oh, and did you make sure the tank was WAY EMPTY when you did it? Yup. It's a bear.

Dare we ask?

I'll try to make it. I suspect I won't get out of work today until midnight and will have to be back in the office by 8 AM.

Re: Thursday North Austin Lunch M&G

Yup. Good time. And Scott and I got to meet an older gentleman on a cool older Honda Superhawk.

Just a teaser for those who didn't make it.........

Scott shared with us how the float girls do their little things for parades.

Something like "Elbow. Elbow. Wrist. Wrist. From the chest. Blow a kiss."

Not quite as good as when Scott shows it off though.

Re: Thursday North Austin Lunch M&G

Now, now now.......

Get it right. It's:

elbow elbow
wrist wrist
from the heart
throw a kiss

(for those not there, picture a beauty queen on top of a float doing the hand wave thing.... you get the idea)

.

Yes, it was quite the spectacle.

Sorry I missed most of you...was a little late getting there. Thanks to Mic and Scott for sticking around a bit. I enjoyed it.

Davy

+2 on leaving early. It would have been more productive to have stayed. didn't get much done at the office.

Re: Thursday North Austin Lunch M&G

Enough.....

Background:
I participate in a lot of parades with my historic military jeep. There's also a lot of small-town floats with the various beauty pagent gals sitting atop of the floats. We in our jeeps have always waved back at the parade gals doing their beauty wave sort of to mimic them. One parade we were at, one of the gals yelled at us "you're doing it all wrong..... it's elbow elbow wrist wrist.... and so forth. Ever since then we in the jeep club take the opportunity to wave back at the parade girls saying "elbow elbow wrist wrist......" and they all get a big kick out of it 'cause they were taught that's how you do it. Just sort of funny coming from a bunch of grown men in old military jeeps.

We return you to your regularly scheduled program...
