Re: Who else lane splits and is it legal?

I tried to upload the pics here but no luck, anyway, there are plenty here (taken form gopro video)

The resolution is that of the screen shot so the images are not fantastic.

Re: Who else lane splits and is it legal?

I'd be willing to bet that the majority of those cops in the HOV lane aren't riding two or more to a car, which I know is a perk to being an officer. They aren't going to slow down their commute just to give you a ticket. If there's HOV lane enforcement going on you might not be so lucky with those guys.

I dig the photos from the other forum. Nice to see the reality isn't as horrible as most people imagine.

I don't know. I never have been pulled over by one, and I've been pulled over by everything else including a park ranger, for doing a California Stop at a stop sign, but to my defense I was in CA at the time Sequoia Natl Park

Re: Who else lane splits and is it legal?

I've seen Dallas County Constables pull cars over and sit off the road appearing to be running traffic. I halfway suspect they may be on the lookout for someone specific and not really trying to stop speeders, etc.

Probably looking for folk with warrants. That's generally what they do from my understanding.

Then again he could have been just having lunch and trying to look busy lol

I notice there are folks on the Houston board who are the "it's dangerous you are gonna die a horrible death" types haha.

Legal or not, Ill never Lane Split or Filter, whatever. Its a stupid concept for me regarding safety, its bad enough trying not to get killed in your own lane with safe following distance. All it will take is to get side checked in traffic between 2 cars to make you think twice.
In my personal car if someone is lane splitting I wont try to stop them but best believe if the Rider hits my car, hes getting chased down with vengeance.
Guess sitting in traffic waiting to get pancaked is much safer.

And chase him down? How, you're stuck in traffic?

Re: Who else lane splits and is it legal?

Pegasus= Unicorn with wings.

That makes a Pegasus like 10 times more ****** than a Unicorn.
