Hello from Ontario, Canada

Hi all. Found this forum on my quest to learn about my new bike, a 2009 Bandit 1250 ABS, and get to know some fellow bandit riders. My bike is barely at the 1st break-in interval and the weather here is turning typical Canada in November (wet, cold, frost) so I may not get to know her too well this year but hopefully know a bit more by the Spring thaw!

I hear I can expect better handling from my Bandit than from my last bike, a 2006 Yamaha VMax! LOL!

Cheers

Blaine

Nice up there in the summer. I've raced Mosport. Enjoy your new scooter.

Where 'bouts in Ontario you from?

I was born in Hamilton, grew up in Dundas, and ended up in Smithville before the big move here

More importantly - can you mail Tims coffee and Canadian tire road hockey balls (my dog refuses any other kind)

Weather is perfect here right now... Clear skies, gentle breeze, low humidity, 75 F... C'mon down!

Welcome to the site and congrats on the bike!

The phrase "eminent domain" reflects an assumption Karl Marx would find congenial: government is the default owner of everything, and that private ownership, however extensive, is merely a contingent arrangement. - Will Grigg

When one possessed of the Truth suffers from a heavy heart he is susceptible to a more dangerous affliction — the craving for power to eradicate error, to cause Truth to triumph by force. - Frank Chodorov

The issue is always the same: the government or the market. There is no third solution. - Ludwig von Mises

Where politicians flourish, long history has harshly taught us, people and their liberty wither. Where the state is god and the "public interest" worshipped, individual man will be found bleeding upon the altar. - Karl Hess

I heartily accept the motto, “That government is best which governs least.”… Carried out, it finally amounts to this, which also I believe—”That government is best which governs not at all”; and when men are prepared for it, that will be the kind of government which they will have. — Henry David Thoreau, 1849

Human reason must justify what the human will has chosen, even at the cost of falsifying reality. - Stephen Westerholm

But the myth of the rule of law does more than render the people submissive to state authority; it also turns them into the state's accomplices in the exercise of its power. For people who would ordinarily consider it a great evil to deprive individuals of their rights or oppress politically powerless minority groups will respond with patriotic fervor when these same actions are described as upholding the rule of law. - John Hasnas

Re: Hello from Ontario, Canada

Thank-you for the welcomes. I'd love to do a road trip south...I love the summers but starting to really dislike winters in Canada. Until it warms up again I guess I'll keep pluckin' the banjo, drink some bourbon and think southern thoughts!

I live in Oshawa, Ontario which is only 30 min from Mosport. Give me a mailing address and I'll see about the coffee and hockey balls!

Cheers!

It's OK - we get regular deliverys

Don't let them fool you about the nice weather right now - the couple months you don't ride up there in the winter is the same as the couple months it's torture to ride here in the summer. Nice that Canadian beer is still cheaper here then there
