Re: HOUSTON: Tuesday Breakfast

Rob, I have been working on Tuesdays tracks that you asked for. Between my severe lack of knowledge and this ancient computer it's been fun! Couldn't e-mail it to you for some reason, thought I'd try this.surfside tracks.gdb. I think it would have been lot easier and more fun to just have me lead you through it again with your GPS tracking!!

LOL, yep, we'll do it again for sure! Got the route you sent, and it's perfect, so don't sell yourself short. Sure appreciate it, Jeff.

Rob, and anyone else with an android phone for that matter. There is an app from Google called My Tracks. I really like it, it keeps stats for distance traveled, high speed, average speed, and so on, but is also a good way to log a route when your fallowing someone.

Wow, looks like a very cool app! Thanks, Chad.

Yes, we picked it up Saturday.

Judging by Wednesday's forecast, breakfast tomorrow may be my only chance to show it off this week.

Re: HOUSTON: Tuesday Breakfast

You sure you've had enough riding; sure you don't want about four more before you cross the boarder? LOL. I'm working through Wednesday, other wise you know I'd be there to escort you fellers back.
Won't be there for breakfast, but look forward to seeing you on Wednesday.
Good riding, and finish safe.

Re: HOUSTON: Tuesday Breakfast

Just noticed today coming back from Rio Bravo, the south bound feeder road lanes no longer can enter I45 south where the HOV lane ends and enters the freeway; they put up concrete barriers. So much for the old feeder road hop around traffic. Looked like I wasn't the only one who found this out the hard way.

Re: HOUSTON: Tuesday Breakfast

So, we are in Harlingen this morning. Just a few statistics; 37 border crossings (some taking as little as an hour, some taking as long as 10 hours), 94 different places we have stayed (not including the Canadian tour last year in June), 3 back tires, two front tires and around 27,000 miles including the Canadian ride.

So, my wife says, "we expected you guys to just ride on in on Saturday and get here around midnight". I love her, but there are so many things that hurt right now, the posterior, my ear from ear buds, my neck, my back, my finger that I managed to somehow smash ... did I mention my posterior? Another five hours on top of a full days ride just wasn't going to happen.

Besides the bike needs some serious attention. The rear shock is gone, just spring (it feels like a old mercury that has never had the shocks changed) and the exhaust gasket blew out again (third time), hence the need for ear buds, but even so, Chuck says I sound like a harley ... bleh!

I plan to keep the KTM though. After all how many bikes can say they have been to EVERY COUNTRY in all the Americas. It will be a summer project to completely tear it down and fix all the nagging issues. I plan to make it my BIG dual sport.

Chuck and I plan to put together a slide show and perhaps show it to the Clear Lake crowd some Wednesday night. Should be entertaining (yeah, right!).

See some of ya Tuesday, but not on the KTM.

Re: HOUSTON: Tuesday Breakfast

George, rubber boots are not enough, I might suggest a FULL body condom, when Chuck starts telling the stories.

I am sorry, but I will not be there today. I'm running a fever of 103 and am going to the doctor to get checked out. Dengue fever, malaria, yellow fever, but more likely the flu or an infection. But, I shouldn't mess around with this.
