My bike VS Carrera GT.

If you ever wondered how my bike would stack up with a Porsche Carrera
GT? Let's just say, I do not have a chance in ****! For example (not
that this ever would happen on a public road or anything) roll on from 45 up to god knows what (140mph+)
Carrera by 60 yards (without trying)

Just thought you guys would like to know..

Porsche Carrera is my favorite (reality) car... I'd give it the street any day

Don't know what bike you have but interesting to know nonetheless.

Re: My bike VS Carrera GT.

I am betting the GT with a 0-60 time of 3.6 sec and the quarter in 11.3 and 131 mph will hang with you up to the quarter and then begin to pull away as the speeds increase. That is assuming the driver is getting the most out of the car and you are getting everything out of the bike.

(the times come from Road and Track)

Do you mena "reality" as "somehow affordable". If so, I am happy for you that you can consider a $440.000 car a reality car, to me that is as it was Sci-Fi. Aren't you thinking about the 911 Carrera (Not exactly affordable either).
Carrera GT

I always loved the 911 but the new Cayman is growing on me. I think I like my supercars to be nimble. I'll take a Ferrari 360 over the Enzo or a 911 over the Carrera GT, or a Lambo Gallardo over the Murcielago.... OH well, I am going to keep dreaming

I'm kind of partial to the Lotus Exige myself.

Re: My bike VS Carrera GT.

houstonredrider - That is exactly how I meant it. Every day driving and "somewhat" attainable?!

I have loved the 911 since I was a young teenager. My dad's friend had a black one and I always looked out the window and admired the 'beautiful' car. My mom and I used to go to the Porsche dealerships and had a bet, who would get a Porsche first. Needless to say, we are both losing.

Edited to state: I think the GT is neat, as any Carerra, but I consider the 911 more reality than the GT. If that makes sense.

Of course, a Modena would be awesome, but I am going to keep dreaming too...

Re: My bike VS Carrera GT.

Nope. I'll take the Exige. Maybe an Elise in a pinch. Almost as fast as the Porsche, shifter cart handling, and Toyota reliability. A winner any way you slice it.

But if anyone out there wants to give me a nice 993, I wouldn't turn it down.

Re: My bike VS Carrera GT.

My 21 year old daughter called the 911 "bug eyed." I almost dis-owned her on the spot...

When I was growing up, the Countach and the 911 were THE dream cars, witht he Lambo being constructed of pure Unobtainium.

What I would really like, in a dream like state today, is a new Saleen S7, then maybe the Gallardo. Downward from there, the new Ford GT40, Dodge Viper, Lotus Exige (or Elise), Cobra (kit), Saleen Mustang, down to a Pontiac Solstice.

Until then, my Superhawk will have to Fulfill The Need.
Anybody bought a lottery ticket lately?

Re: My bike VS Carrera GT.

Would a 'Busa roll on short(kinda) distance? Or would it need 5 miles to get there?

Re: My bike VS Carrera GT.

I vote for Desmosedici RR myself

As for supercars - I'm fine with the C6 Z06. I can buy a different color for every weekday for less than the Porsche GT. I nearly rode off a mountain in Tennesse drooling on my steering stem while a black C6 Z06 blasted by. mmmmm yummy.

I love the new Z06. I had a '02 Z06 and I can only imagine how nasty the C6 is.....

But at $70k I will have to just imagine how it is.

Can you repeat the question? I'm guessing you're asking if a Busa is faster over short distances?

/begin thread hijack/
To answer the question: A bone-stock Hayabusa would smoke that car in every benchmark acceleration metric (0-60, 0-100, 1/4 mile (time and terminal velocity), 60-100 rolling accel, etc., etc.). If you remove the Hayabusa's electronic speed limit it'll beat the GT's top speed as well and would probably reach that top speed in a shorter distance and in less time than the GT would need.
/end thread hijack/

And the best part...it's 1/40th the price (1/44th if you include taxes).

That car is gorgeous though. I wonder what the insurance on that thing would be? Probably 2-3x my mortage payment.
