Good Eats in Muenster?

The missus and about a dozen or 15 others from the DFW Monsters list are planning to ride out towards Muenster on Sunday and stop there for lunch. What is a good place for them to eat there? I have a phone # for Doc's Bar and Grill, but that's about it. Recommendations?

If Doc's Bar & Grill is the one on 82 and 373, then I have to vote for them. There were 9 of there last Saturday and they had our food out in minutes. Good food and good service.

Muenster/ the center is good, but if you drive 20 miles east to lindsey, I swear it is the best BBQ in Texas. I know this is a senstive subjects, so I will not say any more. The smokehouse!

Re: Good Eats in Muenster?

Breakfast at the center is also wonderfull but the BBQ place in Lindsey also serves a good breakfast. For lunch I would lean toward the Center since I can get decent BBQ closer to home. Take an ice chest and pick up some bratwurst from the store in town as well.

Same here. BAR H rocks for riding the pedal bikes and if you pack both you can camp at BAR H and go ride Red River on the scoots for half the weekend.

Re: Good Eats in Muenster?

Your choices are: Rhomers The Center and Doc's. Fishers grocery has German meats and cheeses and a cute little merry-go-round that chimes on the hour.
Um-pa-pa.

Re: Good Eats in Muenster?

We ( 5 bikes) did an overnight Meunster ride last year. Stayed at the A-OK motel. The A-OK managers brought furniture out for us into the parking lot. We sat & listened to music (bike speakers), had a few drinks (Sonic next door for mixers).
Hit the Center for some beer (walk across the street) & German food. The "church" group, including the mayor of Meunster, were there. An older group. A regular thing apparently. We (being the social gorup we are) had them all doing shots by the end of the night. They bought us a few rounds of drinks and then drove our group (9 piled in one car) to Doc's (about 6-7 blocks away.. used to be the hospital). A band was playing upstairs. Really fun crowd & rocked the place. A fun time, nice people & bars withing walking distance from the A-OK. Decent riding North of St. Joe.

Thumbs up Re: Good Eats in Muenster?

Given the choice, I'd stop at Rohmer's. Check out the onion rings. Here's the website for hours: http://www.rohmersrestaurant.com/

If you've got a way to keep things cool, go to Fischer's Meat Market. Easy to find. My wife and I drive 30 miles to buy our meat there. They don't add water to hamburger like most stores do. Great sausage - lots of varieties, and if you get nothing else....smoked cheddar! Absolutely delicious, especially with 18-year-old scotch.

Ride FM 677 north out of Saint Jo and take FM 373 south back to Muenster. Beautiful scenery.
