Day after Thanksgiving ride

Myself and some family riders will be riding Friday in the Sam Houston NF. We get there around noonish and be parked at the parking area behind the Gulf Coast Trade Center on FM1375.

Come join the fun or you will be sitting on those benches at the mall.

Re: Day after Thanksgiving ride

We plan to ride a little Friday afternoon but will be just up the road from you. No mall bench for me.

Scott, we may be getting a late start and not make it to noon-thirty or so. We'll look to see if y'all are still around.

Re: Day after Thanksgiving ride

What a great day it was for riding, the weather and the trails were great!
6 of us rode the trails first loop of 20 miles then lunch at the trucks. Then back out for another 10 mile loop. We....or at least I was exhausted from running a pretty quick pace the whole time.
Only one real accident in the group (endoed) but no real injuries, the bike got a bent sub-frame, and a broken front brake lever. The broken brake lever was found jammed in his mx boot.

Washed my bike, serviced it, washed the mx clothing and then washed myself and ate.

What a great day I hope everyone had an opportunity get out and enjoy it.

I was not a bench warmer today!

Re: Day after Thanksgiving ride

Well, we did not make it to Outlaw. Dad is having back issues and decided bouncing around on an ATV was probably not in his best interests I managed to get out for a ride. Stopped by the East trail head sometime after 3:00pm but everyone was already gone. Ran down to King's Cafe to say hi to some folks, then up towards Richards to visit some other folks, then scooted on home via some back roads between Richards and FM 1791. The sand was loose and deep What a beautiful day!!

We rode the west side from 10 - 2 and had a great time, unfortunatly a fork seal on the XR developed a leak and will need servicing. The weather was PERFECT!
