classmate went down today, he's ok
We took our police academy final today and passed! I guess he was excited and that combined with the cold tires he target fixated on a concrete culvert, froze and bailed.
Really bad rash on his left hand and knee. Unfortunately the doofus wasn't wearing gloves, fortunately he's ok. Lid was untouched and his textile jacket looked fine. BDU pants are all torn up, tactical boots held up fine. His FZ6 is actually ok, just a bent shifter and some fairing rash. We were worried at first when I got the call, "Hey Jesse, I just wrecked and really tore up my hands can you come get me??" I was carpooling with my friend who already got issued his take home car so it was the first time we got to run lights and sirens.

Make sure he wears all leather gloves.
For my reasoning, click the link (graphic): http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=20659.0

Ask him why he wears a ballistic vest and carries a gun.

Congratulations on passing your test, thats a big step. Now, comes FTO training.
After your friend heals up be sure he gets some good gloves such as those Moto GP's that AlphaFire X5 and I got. I wore mine tonight and they felt great! Thank AF5 for that recommendation.

I'm glad your friend is O.K. and I hope a lesson was learned. I feel naked on my bike without my gear...helmet, gloves, jacket, boots. I've never needed any of it but it sure is comforting knowing it is there.
