Austin group Fundraiser Ride questions
A member of an East Texas riders' website is asking for information about putting a ride together to raise funds for a Spinal Cord Research Foundation group, in Austin. Could any of you Austin area members give him some help?

Thanks, Kurt. I passed that suggestion on to him.

Re: Austin group Fundraiser Ride questions
There are two Harley Davidson shops in Austin. One north on IH 35 and Braker, the other on south IH 35 (I think). Those guys have a few of these a year with a large turnout. I'd check them out too.
Another thing that is huge in Austin are 5k and 10k fun runs. Promotion is everything, but even under promoted runs can get 200-400 runners show up. Run Tex in Austin is the store to contact for info if you want to try that route. Bicycle charity rides are big here too, and can produce turnout similar to fun runs. Runs are outside the summer months, bike rides are outside the winter months.
