Re: Pie Run II 2007 "Heavenly Pie in Hico"

I gotta go see a man about a cow down in them parts this weekend, so I'm going to try to accomplish both. I haven't asked the missus her intentions, yet.

If you buy the cow, can you tie him off to the Strom and mozey on home the slow way?

Re: Pie Run II 2007 "Heavenly Pie in Hico"

Planning on leaving the good ole Minyard at I20 and Green Oaks in SW Arlington at 8:30 and mosey on down to Hico via some Texas roads...

Route TBD but I have some ideas...

Looking for folks to join me so I won't get lost...

So what time should one leave Katy to make Hico @ 1100 hrs..assuming relatively legal speeds.

Rocketbunny and I will be slabbing it up too, so pick a meeting spot. We'll look for fun stuff after lunch.

Ask Squeaky and add one hour to what she tells you.

Just to be clear, that was relatively legal speeds, not relativistic speeds.

Re: Pie Run II 2007 "Heavenly Pie in Hico"

But as far as I know the back seat is already taken for this one!

I was talking about the throttle lock for the long/straight/boring parts. Dance? How so? (Is this a good thing like "man, she can really make that bike dance" or a bad thing like "wow, that bike is dancing all over the place, I should hang back")

Good thing... you make your bike look real light the way you were bouncing it from side to side... that was on purpose wasn't it

Yes, it was on purpose!
I like to do that for a few reasons - it scrubs the tires if I've been off on the shoulder or in dirt/gravel, and also makes my body relax (I can feel the tension in my lower back when I do that if I'm not relaxed enough yet).

Plus it just looks cool - especially if I can sucessfully slalom the lane reflectors!

What of it? My bike has cruise control too. :p Oh... and XM.... oh...and a comfy seat...and it's NOT slow off the line. Wait! What was the advantage to that land barge?

I'm thinking that I'll talk Squeaky into meeting in Waller at 2920 and 290 around 7AM. Then when we KSU about 45 minutes later, we'll be on-time for the Pie Run.

We'll either take 290->36 or just straight 6. Either way, its 215 miles from Waller.

I've got a route back planned..but I'm not sure Squeaky will like it. It's a little long. :P
