Activities at the old Austin Executive Air Park

This old airport on IH35 in North Austin/Pflugerville area used to be called Tims Air. Someone told me he has seen motorcycles out there and I know there have been autocross events in the past.

Anyone know the organization controlling that land? I'd like to check out a web site or contact the group.

Haven't heard a thing. Might have to ride out there and see what's up. I needed an excuse to ride somewhere today.

That place was alive and kicking a few months ago with stunters and spectators. Until one day some guy on his brand new bike tried a stunt , wrecked it, and sued the owner of the property over it because he didn't have insurance. Thats the last I heard, so I doubt there is anything going on up there anymore.

Heres one thread about it from another forum, http://www.cycleforums.com/forums/sh...hreadid=117712

Oh man, don't get me started. I think it was Austin that resisted building a park for skate boarders due to liability issues but finally did it.

That's about as brazen as suing over a fall out at Emma (City Park) because the dropoff is too steep and rocky. Unless the owner had a dangerous pit that wasn't marked, the guy suing and his lawyer need to be slapped.

Of course, I'm not advocating violence, just illustrating a point.

Executive Air Park

I've seen bikes there in the past but never stopped to find out what was going on. I thought I saw someone riding a major wheelie but I figured they were just messing around. They probably are stunta's or wanna be's. Definitely not my scene. BTW, this place hasn't been an airport for several years and I'm sure it is private property probably owned by Dell Computer Corp since they bought the Executive Air Park for a shipping facility about five years ago. I'll make a point of travelling by there a little more frequently.

There were alot of wannabees there. But there was also a group of a few stunters that where really serious about what they did, and they did some real amazing stuff. Like I said earlier, I'm pretty sure its all shutdown for everyone now.
