Re: Picture posting test here....

Are you trying to upload as an 'attachment' to your existing thread post or do you have the picture hosted somewhere else on the internet and you need to post the URL/link?

Re: Picture posting test here....

OK.....

If you can see your picture at Photobucket, you're almost there! When you "Mouse Over" the little thumbnail in Photobucket you'll see four different types of URL or internet addresses appear just below the picture. You want the one that says "IMG Code".

Place your cursor in that box and left click with your mouse. You should see the entire line go blue. Then do a right-click, copy. What you just did was to copy the full URL or internet address of the picture where it resides on Photobucket's servers.

With that URL in memory, come on over to your TWT post thread and place the cursor where you want the picture. Then do a right click - paste and it should drop the URL.

Do a Preview Post to see if it worked, then if all is good, hit Submit Reply.

Try that and see how it works.....

Re: Picture posting test here....

I've made a gross assumption you're using a PC. I have no idea how to grab that URL if on a MAC/Apple.

Re: Picture posting test here....

Hey, you're sooooo close....

Don't try hitting the attachment button.

Just place the cursor somewhere inside the text box you normally type in, then do the right-click-paste. It should show up something like this:

(IMG)http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/g...04_sm.jpg(/IMG)

........but the ( ) will be showing [ ] from Photobucket. No need to change it as the [ ] are what the forum software needs to display the picture. When the [ ] is used, you'll see this:

So go ahead and just paste the full URL in the body of the message. Go on - you're so close......

Re: Picture posting test here....

Once you get the hang of it, doing multiple pictures in the same post is easy. But to answer the question, yes.... You have to keep Photobucket open and go over there, copy the URL, come back to TWT, and paste it. Having two windows open at once makes it very easy.

So in review......
1)Upload your pics to Photobucket
2)Mouse over the one you want to display at TWT
3)Left-click on the "IMG Code" line to select the full URL of the picture
4)Right-click/Save on the "IMG Code" line
5)Return to TWT in an open/new thread
6)Right-click/Paste

Couple things to keep in mind from the administration side.....
A) Try to limit your pictures to no larger than 1000 pixels on either side. Having a larger picture causes most folks to have to scroll up/down or left/right to see the whole image and for those with slower internet connections, it's a horrible experience to download that size of a file.
B) You can post multiple pictures in the same thread. Just paste them one on top of the other. Put a few spaces between each one and if you want, type any comments/story to go with the pic just above the URL line.

Glad to help....

Oh, and cute picture of the kid!

Re: Picture posting test here....

That's crowding the largest physical size we'd like to see posted on the forum. It's 1024x768 pixels or in common terms 10.24" x 7.68". If all your pictures are sized to 1024, I'd say it's close and I personally don't see a real issue with it. TM might say otherwise and that would be the direction we'd have to take. But for sure - don't go any larger. I'm sure the 1024x768 is how your camera is setup and it can go up or down from this setting. If you want to keep it easy, just stay with that setting and have fun.

There are a variety of free photo-resizing programs out there. I think Photobucket even has that feature somewhere on the Edit buttons and it gives you various options.

Just remember one important thing... ALWAYS keep a copy of the LARGEST resolution size file on your home computer and have a backup plan in place to backup your images. If you resize in Photobucket, then lose the high-res version at your home, all you'll be able to recover from Photobucket is the smaller resolution picture, thus sacrificing quality if you want larger prints at some point.

Make sense?
