The Cracker Barrel - Robert Lee, TX
If you are in the vicinity of Robert Lee; if you like really good hamburgers, onion rings, french fries, and meringue pie, and if you are not worried about your diet, don't hesitate to stop in the Cracker Barrel. I find it impossible to ride through Robert Lee without stopping there. It's rustic, clean, decorated with deer heads, and covered up with hunters during season. No beer available. Expect to be quizzed about your home and destination and your motorcycle by some of the older customers. They are country folks and very out-going and friendly and expect you to be the same way. Enjoy!

Tourmeister,
I guess I forgot to give accurate directions to the Cracker Barrel so here they are. Robert Lee is a small town South of Interstate 20 about halfway between Colorado City and San Angelo. Two highways intersect in Robert Lee. Highway 208 runs mostly North and South. Highway 158 runs mostly West and East although when it goes through Robert Lee it runs Southwest and Northeast. At the intersection of these two roads, there is a stop light. I think it is the only one in Robert Lee. The Cracker Barrel is about 100 yards Southwest of the intersection on the North side of Highway 158. I also forgot to mention that prices are very reasonable and there is a gas station that you can see from the parking lot of the restaurant I don't have any photographs of the place but it is not much to lookat anyway. It's just a country restaurant where all the locals eat after funerals. The funeral home is one block North. Tourmeister, have I forgotten anything else?

Cracker Barrell
yep, I have to agree.. The Barrell of Fun (Cracker Barrell) as we call it has one of the bestest burgers in the West.
We have a place on Lake Spence (what there is left of it) and eat there often. |
