How do you clear old ECU codes from ECM?

I had/have an issue with my O2 bypass which triggered the FI light to come on. Bike runs fine but tired of seeing light. DoBeck has sent few new O2 bypass'es to try and now they think they have the right wattage and resistance. I have disconected the battery and connected *** and neg battery cables but I can not clear the code out of memory. Bike shop wants $60 to clear the code using the Suzuki SDS software (cost of SDS kit is $688, required CD package is another $188). However, when I reconnect the HO2 sensor I will not see the FI light come on. My question is, if the O2 bypass is correct how will the bike notice the difference between the stock H02 sensor and the O2 bypass?

I only see the FI light in 'closed loop' mode usally @ ~4K - 4.5k RPM's, since I commute ~35 miles each way to work on the interstate I will see the light comming and going. Once I kill the bike and restart it is gone, code is -C44 (HO2 sensor seeing > 1V) I do have the ability to clear the code with the toggle switch ($14) but it will not pull it our of the ECM memory.

Has anybody had this issue? Is there some way to defeat this with out paying out at least $60?

Thanks
