Lunch Ride for Barbeque

After a week of eating wonderful Pasta and riding roads of endless curves in Tuscany last week on a fancy BMW Sport Touring bike, it was time for some Texas Barbecue and ride on the old KLR. At the last minute Ed29 and Scott decided to ride with me today.

I pulled out an old GPS route that IDR put together for me that was originally used for crashing the V-Strom Barbecue in Glen Rose a couple years ago.

Our first stop was in Granbury after taking the scenic route there via back roads that took us out near Weatherford first.

Our next stop was to look over a water crossing near "World Famous" Chalk Mountain.

Would we we turn back or cross? No way we were turning back.

I went first to test the Waters.

Then ED29

No TWT ride report is complete with out one of these:

It still hard for me to believe that only a week ago the I was here at the Adriatic Sea.

Lunch Time:

After lunch we made our way back home.

ED29 peeled off in Burleson and Scott was still headed up 35W when I peeled off to go to the house. What a great 232 mile ride today!

Re: Lunch Ride for Barbeque

So yall are the trio I saw out on Deep Down Road. I was on the yellow 1150. Wasn't that a great road with those water crossing today? Last time thru there I almost hit a llama. Looks like you enjoyed a great day.

Re: Lunch Ride for Barbeque

May I borrow a copy of the water crossing shot?

It looks like my right pannier was dragging water when it kicked sideways
