Striking hard against guns in schools!

I think I'll raise my children in another country, or travel back in time to an era of common sense...Stupidity and 'laws' like these is why I lean more towards my 'other' culture.

Even if you are anti-gun (and I respect your views), you have to admit this is ridiculous.

Well, the kid also had dime-sized claymore mines that actually work....

I'll respond as we all should in these circumstances. Claps hands and furrow eyebrows first, then ask; "Why do you hate children?"

Re: Striking hard against guns in schools!

The Principal did the right thing. We need to get pencils, pens and other potential weapons out of the classroom. And paper geez, have you ever had a paper cut. It is just a matter of time before some mis-understood kid cuts some other child's throat with a sheet of lethal 8 X 10 paper. We should convert to writing on cloth with organic crayons. As an alternative, is there any reason that we couldn't use sugar free non-fat Jello in place of paper?

Why has the government drug its feet on fitting desks with airbags? Is it because children don't vote? Why do continue to build playgrounds at schools. These are nothing but obstacle courses full of dangerous typhoid laden traps. I think that children should have outside play time, but while dressed in reasonable protective gear. Remember ATGATT. Why do authorities continue to keep multi-story schools open? How many children have to scrape their knees in stair falls before we wake up? This is an American tragedy. For a few billion dollars we could make schools safe. The investment could be re-earned when we phase out cars, guns, knives, non-organic foods, meat and fur.

I think we can all agree on these rather obvious observations. It is time to put words into action. If you are an American that cares, send me a donation ($25.00 minimum). Send donations to "Preserving America Intelligently." No checks please, cash or credit cards (a convenience fee will be charged).

Yes, and the girl with the magic marker too.

First thought that came to mind was bubble-wrapping the kids, but then there is the choking hazard.

Re: Striking hard against guns in schools!

I am all for the correct kind of gun control.

That is the flavor where you take your kids to the range and teach them how to load, unload, safely handle, and correctly fire the guns in question. Proper gun control ultimately means being able to hit your target. It also involves a lack of accidental discharges, and a healthy respect for guns in place of curiosity and ignorance.

Sounds great ed29, but you left out teaching your children the value of human life and when to use the proper sight picture to protect it.

To paraphrase Kurt, zero-tolerance policies aren't about protecting students -- they are bout protecting administrators. It's nice to see these retarded policies blowing up in their face for once.

This story is yet another excellent reason for completely dismantling, liquidating, and otherwise doing away with the government school system. What knuckleheads.

I'm more worried about the tiny policeman. Policemen are NOT toys. What kind of message are we sending our children when we allow them to have toy policemen? Especially one that seems to be one handing a 50 cal machine gun.

By the way, this should probably be moved to the Off Topic section.

Well, he had to be prepared to battle the other Lego character that was wielding an axe!

You must be younger than I am...we used to actually shoot at each other with pellet guns, darts, and other semi-non-lethal projectiles.

How wrong can you be ?

Zero-tolerance policies help the students as "No means NO", its not open for inturruption, there are no judgement calls it is plain and simple.

or you end up with

2" replica of machine gun - okay
4" replica of machine gun - okay
6" replica of a machine gun - maybe
6" replica of a hand gun - looks real to the cop that saw kid just drew on another kid

It is just like speeding, when should I get a ticket in a 50 zone, when I am going over 50

and that is all I have to say about that !!
